Looks are in the eye's of the beholder. So sure some would like the looks, many not. Biggest neg I see would be Trikes are wide enough. Bags would increase that by a lot.
Greetings from the middle of summer in the Northeast.
A lot of trikes are conversions from two wheelers shipped with hard saddle bags. But I have not yet seen the incorporation of those saddle bags into the completed trike (other then rather odd looking jobs with the saddle bags in between the rear wheels acting as a cobbled-together trunk).
Specifically I wonder why I don't see any use of the saddle bags as optional attachments to the outside of the rear wheels, much like in the original configuration. If these were quick release, I think I'd like to have that. Sure it makes the trike that much wider. Some how I don't think it would look bad at all.
Thinking about this for an Indian Chieftan or Roadmaster.
Any thoughts?

A 60" wide trike plus bags. Seriously? They are used by the Outrigger crowd. I think Frankinstine uses them. Don't quote me unless it's true.
Frankenstein does not.
Got a large trunk and tour-pac , when it's full it's full !
Utilizing the fenders as hard bags could be interesting, however they would be xtra wide to acomadate as a wheel well also. JMO. Check out Triggtrikekits.com

1. Too wide
2. Too ugly
3. Too much bracing and support needed to carry any useable weight
4. Too much pain for me after my co-rider ran into them.

07 ST 1300 for two-wheeled fun!
Plenty of storage on a trike with the top trunk and bottom trunk of the trike. Also can pull a cargo trailer(as I do) for extra storage.
In my opinion, butt ugly and a real pita to pull up to a gas pump.

Not sure if I have free time or I just forgot everything I was suppose to do.
Retired and highly recommend it.
I'll not be putting bags on my trike. It's pretty wide to begin with, I have a trunk that's bigger than bags and I don't think it would be a look I'd like at all. No bags for me. If some guy wants to do it to his trike, more power to him, but I'm not that guy. I don't even like tour packs. The trunk, and a luggage rack are plenty for me.
Pics are on my crashed puter, but ive seen a fellar in Tenn. who used to have a shop that took the Harley bags and made a rack that slid into the receiver on his trikes
he used a Harley fender bags guard rails crash bars and all, looked neat, and no wheel. jus plug and play, air shocks blowed up to carry the weight.
Ive got a spare Harley frame no neck, to do that with, and the bags i bought jus for this conversion, but the trailer thieves called law dawgs in Tex has gone anal, no vin on a trailer they seize it, then they vin it and resell it.
So no vin chopped frame replaced, im screwed, if i put a wheel on it, an it touches the ground i need a vin and a tag. Otherwise i think its just a rack.
Stay outta Alvarado in the daylight, always someone pulled over to inspect your trailer without probable cause. Clebvurne getting as bad.
City sent them to auto theft school, now they're all experts. I sold one trailer i bought from the law, no vin, had it 10yrs, and one i bought from the law in June enclosed, wells cargo, could never get the title paperwork straight, no vin, theft recovered.
Such a pain in the Azzz i sold it for a storage trailer, now, ??? if i buy one, first thing where is the vin, got one ??? nope ??? i pass. 75 percent of all trailers in Texas are stolen, lol thats Alvarados mantra.
Fellar at auction told me Alvarado and Cleburne had 100 trailers in the impound. Hey the good news is i get to buy a trailer back on the internet from the police that stole it, except this time it will have a vin.
Seems like I remember someone at the rally in Eureka Springs two years ago had mounted saddlebags on the rear of their trike. Not positive, but maybe it went into a trailer hitch? Made for a long trike, but not as long as puling a trailer. Maybe I saw it someplace else, but pretty sure it was in Eureka Springs.
