I don't know if there is any difference, but IMHO, a rear bumper is a must. Plus it looks good ..
+ 1 to what Fuzzy said. Can't help you with the difference but a bumper looks nice (IMHO). I have the HD one and put it on myself (extra pair of hands helps with the install).

I'll admit, hard as I try, I'm always in a hurry. Twice now I've pull the golf cart into the garage and the front tire hit the rear bumper of the Tglide. Hate to think what damage that tire would have done if the bumper wasn't there. As FuzzyWuzHe said, it's a must.
