apparently the gap between riders and non riders is wider than I thought

Maybe she doesn't realize, today, there are women who travel alone on bikes.

The first of next month Ma and I are riding from Ocala Fl to Paris, Arkansas. If she couldn't go I'd make the trip by myself savoring the solitude. You're right, those that don't ride, don't understand.

That also goes for those that say "It's so dangerous." Well yeah, so is getting out of bed in the morning. What they don't think about is the 1,000's upon 1,000's of bike riders that arrive safely at wherever they are going with no problems.

that reminds me of my old '69. Left brake, right shift. Good old days.

LOL -- Yup, the old Sportys were originally made to compete with Triumphs, BSA's and Nortons so they had a right side shift like the Britbikes did. Sold the old Sportster and got an "American Shift" Kawi H2 blue-smoke 750n Triple. Darn near killed myself first couple of time I tried to shift and brake with the wrong controls.

True story I left up north and rode my trike all the way to va last year to see my family and i got the same question are you nuts you rode all the way here on that? My only response was it was cheaper than driving a car and you can see a lot more. Then I got home and the cousin that said that made me think. This is the same dumb ass that jumped out off a perfectly good airplane just to knock it off his bucket list! so I might be slow but I think a trike is a lot safer than jumping out of airplane :AGGHH:

That really doesn't surprise me ... I used to get all kinds of people asking where ya from kinda things when on a trip ... 90% thought it was kewl that I was a ways from home.

Same here. I get 9 envious remarks out of ten. I'm too old to care about the 1 in 10 that might be negative. The 10% can hold themselves captive of fear and it doesn't bother me in the least. No guts, no glory, as the old cliche goes has always been my motto.
