Love the long run's, but my iron butt days are long gone. Have to hold it down to to four, maybe five hours a day, or I'll be paying for it for the next week.
Heck I'm not even on a trike just yet and I can't do long days. 300 - 350 miles and I'm tuckered. So try to add another 100 - 150 miles and I'd be shot and unable to do any the next day. This getting old stuff stinks.
The only reason some people are still alive is it's illegal to shoot them.

Love my long runs. Next one in April. 2600 miles 1-way. Then back home a couple weeks later. The wife will fly out and meet me in Tucson. Her doctor says she can't medically handle the cross county stuff any more.
Now my question to Roadhawk. Where is your avatar pic taken? Kind of looks like East of Moab, UT. Am I just delusional?
One of the reasons we are looking at trikes is to get back out there seeing the rest of our great nation, not in a cage. We've still got places we want to ride to and thru. Trying to find someplace to go sit on some to determine just what fits us and what we like.
We do and we absolutely LOVE it. Hubby seems to think he really wants an Goldwing with a Hannigan kit. Says if we trike the Vision we would be constantly shifting.
We don't like to ride over 8 hrs,a day.Last summer when we went to Maine ,one day we were on the bike 12hrs. We were both wore out.Not sure about the trike yet,not been on any long rides on it. But figure it will be about the same.
I've ridden out West many times. The problem now is that most of my friends that I rode with have either died, become ill, or no longer interested in long trips. A product of age I guess, but very sad.
well I am not as young as I once's was. the wife and I ride to enjoy, now in our 70s, oh we still put in a long day some times. or last was 13 1/2 hr. ( just wanted to get home)
we ride very little interstate, you see more on secondary roads. and love eating in mom & pop's cafe's in smaller towns.
