What don't you like about your Free?

Did a lot of riding Wednesday and decided to clean the FW up Friday for the weekend. Gasoline was dripping slowly from the fuel line where it's connected to the tank. Called the local Harley shop and they'll TRY to pick it up tomorrow. Had it for about a year and this is the fourth time it's been in the shop for repair. First, locked up front brakes left me stranded. Next, moisture in the speedo made it unreadable. A defective tilt angle sensor left me stranded at night and now a leaking fuel line. Is anyone else having a series of problems with this P.O.S. ?

I had a couple of problems with mine since I purchased it. When I first bought it the brakes were all out of adjustment.

The sensor in the left hand switch gave out but was fixed.

My speedometer went crazy on me and finally just froze up. Fixed. For the first 4K miles it was in the shop about 4 or 5 times besides regular maintenance. It was very frustrating but seems to have all the bugs worked out of it now. (Knock on wood). I have been riding the heck out of it this year. I am using it for physical therapy on my back and spine and legs. I have 10K plus now and the last 4900 or so miles have been trouble free. Sometimes it just takes a while to get all the bugs worked out .

I know we do not buy new bikes with this in mind but sometimes it happens. Hope things improve soon.

I live in the Midwest and I have had my FW for just over a year. I've put just over 15k miles on it so far. I love my trike, obviously, I ride it often! I've ridden it to Dallas TX, Denver CO, and several other places more local to home. I've never went into parade mode, must be lucky? I have had a few issues. First, from new it made a rattle that sounded nasty. This is my first harley and the dealer told me to ignore it because "harley's make weird noises" ok, a friend of mine heard this one day and stopped me saying it's not right. He made the mechanic ride it longer than the 4 mile norm to hear it (it was fixed) first problem was a bad bushing in the primary. Problem solved!

Second issue: I put harley davidson after market led tail lights on it.

First set filed with water within a month, warranty covered replacement. 5 months later same problem but they quit working all together, warranty again but the circuit boards under the trail lights were corroded and destroyed. Well you'll never guess but 5 more months and the same problem! This time I removed them myself cleaned the board (corosion again) and read a lot of forums to find out the opening the wires go through on the rear fenders isn't sealed and allows water in right from the wheels. They suggested filling the gap with silicone and replaceing the light/boards again. The dealer gave me new lights and boards again on warranty but did not like my homemade fix (boo hoo) haven't had another problem but it's only been a few months. (Fingers crossed)

Third: I'm riding a trike instead of 2 wheels because of an injury (missing left arm above elbow) the dealer said we can modify it for anything you need! (Liar) I put the clutch in the front brake master (works perfect) did away with the front brake handle (linked front rear brakes on the pedal awesome) was the only real mod I needed to begin riding. After a few miles I saw a few things I wanted to change (hand controls) being familiar with older harley's I'm figure ok it's just wireing, wrong!

So if someone reads this story, I'm looking for a way to put the left turn signal on the right control on the left side of the right turn signal. Would like to put the cruise control on the right side too.

I've already put a button on the right for the horn (found one that fit in the blank spot under the turn signal) would like to be able to use these without letting go of the handlebar (would feel a bit more safe) the harley dealer told me they cannot do it and a few other shops around here said they can't do it. Sorry for the novel!
