Drone aircraft are cool toys as well as useful vehicles for many situations.
I believe that's why they're so popular today.
Wonder what a drone will look like, & be capable of doing in 20 years or so...
This 100 DroneSynchronized Airshow Is The World's Largest, And Most Impressive -
Drones have a lot of people worried about privacy, but they can be used for good as well as nefarious purposes. Take, for instance, a spectacular display of drone technology by Intel Corporation (USA) involving 100 small aircrafts beinglaunched skywards in formation has earned a new Guinness World Record for the Most Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) airborne simultaneously.
Controlled on the ground by a crew using PCs with Intel software, the mass of drones lit up the night sky in sync to a live performance of Beethoven's Fifth Symphony and executed a stunning light show resembling a fireworks display.
"Drone 100" took place at Flugplatz Ahrenlohe, Tornesch, Germany, in November 2015. The record was set in collaboration with Ars Electronica Futurelab to push the limits of the UAV industry and to show what UAVs can be used for.

Wow! Without any reference points how do you know where to direct your drone to at any given time in the dark. Incredible. Are they all computer controlled?
A couple years ago I saw a guy with a single battery engine Styrofoam airplane maybe 18" long doing many acrobatic tricks. The one I liked the best was when he dived straight toward the ground and stopped his plane about 5 feet off the ground and held it there for about 20 seconds before moving it backward, up, far enough that he could again start forward flight. I thought these plane would catch on and I'd see a lot of them but that's been the only one ever.
