I was thinking of doing a tune after I get my first 1000 miles. Want to get a heard pipe that has the cat taken out and a Vance Hines tuner. The FW runs great to me as is but wanted to take some of the heat away. Can some of you give me some in put?

The de catted pipe will help with the heat. Also, a proper tune will help with performance. Even though HD says the new air cleaner is "high" flow, I am convinced just by the "seat of my pants dyno" that performance was improved by going with a true stage one air cleaner. If your just doing a de catted head pipe, you may not need to tune at all.
On my 11 Ultra (2 wheeler), I replaced the head pipe with a de catted one, added a stage one Screaming Eagle Air Cleaner and Download ... bike ran cool and very well.
I de-catted my head pipe (or you can get one already done from wildpigpipes.com for $150 and get $50 back if you turn in your original pipes) and use the Nightrider FL-Vied-10s (50% setting) to richen it up. I'm running the stock Air Cleaner and mufflers.
It runs much better and way cooler, and sounds a bit louder.
This was a simple cost effective solution that matched my just cruising around riding style.

I was looking at the Nightrider site the reviews and think I am going with it. Will be taken my cat out all so. I may buy a header all ready done but I am able to cut mine and weld it back.
I have the factory Stage 1 download, open air intake, catless OEM header and FL-Vied-10s. Made a huge difference heat wise. And it runs nice too!

Ordered a Nightrider and got a cat less header pipe. One question can I run the FL-ViED with out putting the header pipe on?
I will be running stock air cleaner, cobra slipons, catless header and FL-ViED10 when all is done.
Got my header pipe and tuning stuff. will install the FL-ViED 10. So I am going to try and take a temp. reading before and after to see what change it makes. Not going to put the header pipe on just yet.
I rode it to church and back and checked the temp and it reads hotter than it did before I installed the Fl. I have it on 50%. I am running stock air cleaner ,header but Cora slip on. Maybe move it back to 25%.
I adjusted up some to about 55% and it seems to have dropped the heat down about 10 to 15 degrees. I have been checking with a temp gun. Going to ride it to work and check it some more. It does run better.
Nightrider FL-Vied-10s > I'm now running 2 marks clockwise above half way on my 2014 triGlide.
