GoPro, WaspCam, or Drift Ghost????? Help!

If a GoPro, which one and why?

Anyone used the WaspCam Gideon? It seems like more bang for the buck than the GoPro?

Drift Ghost, I'm leaning this direction because I have had a good 5 years with the Drift HD170, and I like the idea of not having to futz with the waterproof enclosure on the GoPro or the Gideon.

I have the Drift Ghost and I love it. Good solid camera and it makes excellent movies. If I knew how to upload movies, I could show you some of my trips made with the Ghost. Easy to operate, waterproof, HD 1080, rotate lens for level shots, stills, 2 batteries, etc. I haven't had any experience with the GoPro so I can't compare. I'm sure GoPro is a wonderful product, but I would get another Ghost if the time comes.

Be interested in your thoughts after you've used it for awhile. I have bridged all your cons listed above but not without added expense. Am going to be like Wilson Wilson Jr, Tim Allen's neighbor, watching over the fence.

Go Pro. Get a skeleton case utilizing a 4-6ft power cord; attached to auxiliary power and you can ride all day recording. Never need to worry about battery life. I ride mostly with mine attached to the front fairing.

I'm still using an old Midland XTC-280. Just a plain camera, no display, but been rock solid so far. Just ordered a mount for it for the GL1800, and a couple extra lithium batteries.

I received the Ghost S and it is a huge improvement on the HD170 we used for years. Much crisper picture, better low light recording, some very cool features (Tagging), and even longer battery life.

Have only done some video around the house. Will get it mounted up and do a ride video next week and post it.

My Ghost is a little heavier than some cameras on the market, so I don't think it will work well as a helmet cam. But since I ride heavy m/cs, I would rather mount it there instead of on a helmet. I never use the 1080 as I think the pictures are just as good at 720. It works well off the bike, too. You can put it in you pocket and carry it anywhere. That's what I really like about it. It sure beats the old super 8 film cameras of the old days.

I have the Ghost S camera. I have had it for about a month, like it ok so far but it is almost too complicated for me. Always getting into the wrong menu or have trouble finding the menu I need. Sometime (most of the time) I can't figure out how to do what I need to do. Maybe someday...

I also have a little camera that looks like a Dash Cam Pro I bought on EBay. It's a pretty neat and simple little deal, works better in the truck than on the Trike. Only paid $15.00 for it brand spanking new. Takes still pictures and HD video, does loops and will record all day HD720 on a 32G SD card. Then when the card is full it records over the oldest loops, loop settings are 2 5 0r 10 minutes and loses only 3 seconds between loops. Stops recording when turn the key off (if it loses power) and starts recording when start the vehicle. I will post some video from it when I can.

I connected my GoPro to power port in fairing
works fine but plugged in remote ( using dual
port charger) it wouldn't charge. Camera worked either port. Then put in single port
charger and remote worked fine and plugged in camera it worked fine. Why would it work on single port charger and not dual?
One note: this is not an official GoPro dual
port charger.
Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Added note to GoPro power:
They recommend chargers at 5 Watt
and 1 amp each port. They make a dual port
for their equipment. Of course it's $30!
but I would rather spend the money than damage the electronics. I'm sure there are
other dual port chargers out there that meet the criteria just don't know which ones they are. My info came from calling GoPro and talking to engineer. He indicated a LOT of
users were going to permanent power. The problem I ran into was most dual ports on market will run camera but haven't found ANY
chargers (other than GoPro) that will run remote AND camera at same time.
As usual, any other input from you biker/Triker
folks is well appreciated. Always interested in what others do.

FYI: My setup is: Camera mounted on fairing
of my '14. TRIGLIDE and remote on left handlebar via generic handlebar mount. Sure
nice not worrying about batteries! Only use
32gb media, with opening on skeleton case
no prob changing cards.
