New Rear Tires for Motor Trike Razor

OK, I have never seen this posted before, anywhere. The tires I took off my 2014 Motor Trike Razor were 245-45-r17 Pretty big tires. I was able to get them off because tires were worn to the the wear bars. Well got the same size tires put on the rims. Now i cannot even get the tires through the fender wells. I have even deflated them completely. Still no luck getting them in the wheel well. I know these trikes are built with the wheels on, then the body is put on after. Do I really have to take the back end of the trike apart to get the stinking wheels back on?

When I did my tires I had the bike way up in the air and kind of slid the tire under the bike first than worked it up from the bottom. I hope this helps.

What I do on my '97 with Lehman .... after jacking the trike and then setting jack stands to hold frame up and gently lowering rear axle to lowest.

OK, I finally got them on. Here is what I had to do. Of course deflate the tires. Then I hit the air shocks and inflated them to 80 lbs. That gave me enough room to squeeze them in. Lord, those things are heavy for an old man like me.

I've got the MT Adventure kit on my 1800, supposed to be the same diff & suspension as the Razor, however mine came with 225/60R-15's.

I checked the diameter of our tires (what keeps the speedo right) and they are essentially the same. Guess they went wider on the newer models.

Yes, mine are huge, about 10 inches wide. They told me my old ones had balancing beeds. I did not even know that. They must have done that when they built it. It was smooth. I may have to do that if these are not as smooth.

Mine is a couple of MPH off. I go 65 even on the GPS and speedo is about 61 or 62.

Slowing the motor down a bit with bigger tires might be a good idea.
A guy doesn't need that much RPM's and power ? Better MPG range ?
I need tires and thinking 225 instead of 205 /15.
I see 205/75 is .8 more dia than 205/70 same width.
225 /75= 2 inches more dia but 3/4" wider.
I dont care for wider for skid and hydroplane.

I had 32K. I could have gotten more. They were getting close to the wear bars. Wife and I are going on a 3000 trip in June. I just wanted to be safe if we came into some rain. Didn't want my grown sons to be orphans. <grin></grin>

Balance beads have been used on semi-trucks for a long time but passenger tires are fairly new. I'm not sold.

Thanks, I am thinking I want to go this route again. I know my trike ran very smooth with the beads. Does right now as well with the weights they put on.

I have tried to put ceramic beads in my trailer tires. It has tubes. Near impossible to get them in through the valve stems.
