what have you pulled with your trike?

I have not had the money to trike my 08 GW yet, but plan on it in a couple of summers down the road. Just a thought: what can i pull with it? I know the stopping would be the downfall of pulling a lot of things. Trikers, what have you pulled with your trike?

NOT SURE WHAT YOU MEAN STOPPING WOULD BE THE DOWNFALL? I GUESS WHEN YOU TOW ANY WEIGHT BEHIND YOU, YOU GOTTA RESPECT THE ADDED WEIGHT & ALLOW FOR MORE STOPPING DISTANCE. I TOW A PIGGYBACKER TRAILER PRETTY WELL LADEN WITH GEAR FOR WEEK LONG TRIPS FOR 2 WITHOUT ANY STOPPING PROBLEMS.THE TRIKE IS AN 03 GL1800.GRANTED I HAVENT BEEN DOING THIS LONG & THE TRAILER AIN'T NO SEMI, BUT SO FAR IT'S BEEN FUN. :yes:

I have never once had any problem pulling my cargo trailer around with my 1500 MotorTrike. I ride 2 up 99% of the time. I just take it easy, and keep the trailer loaded safely/securely, and she pulls un-noticed for the most part. My trailer is home-built. Ya gotta trike your bike! You'll love it! jimsjinx

Most of the larger trailers that might become heavy for the trike, can be purchased with electric brakes on the trailer axle. My '03 CSC conversion has a six wire plug just for that purpose.

I pulled a Tractor Supply 5 X 10 foot trailer with wood floor 12 miles . up one side of the mountain ( well a very big hill) and down the other . Elevation was 200 feet to 700 feet and back down. trailer that is open was taken in Maine 250 mile trip the other was the one I pulled 12 miles . If you have ever been to N E you now there are no flat straight roads .

I pulled my ex-wife for about 2 blocks with no problem except for a few legal issues.

I pulled my Aspen Sentry camper (400 lbs including camping gear) over to Morehead City and back a couple months ago wth no noticeable affect. Of course, it was flat land the entire route. But the 750 Shadow Aero handled it with ease.

With a two wheeler are a trike you have to watch the weight you are pulling,it is not always how good your brakes are it is the weight you are pulling you may be able to lock your brakes up but the heavyweight you are pulling can push you on any way this is especially true on wet surfaces.
My thoughts are never pull any thing much over 400lbs.
I had a good friend of mine that got killed puling a camper.
He was riding two up with the bike loaded down and the camper loaded down.
They figured between the stuff on the bike not counting him and his wife and the camper he had a extra 600 lbs .
He went to pass a semi and the semi did not see him and started to come over in his lane.
He did not have enough power to get around the semi or have enough braking power to slow down enough to let the semi over.
HE went off in the medium and went down and it through him and his wife off the bike.Even though he was wearing a helmet it broke his neck.
His wife got a few bumps and bruises the bike was hardly damaged and the camper had no damage.
So PLEASE PLEASE when ever you go to pull any thing with a motorcycle two wheeler are trike please watch the weight you are pulling it is not just your brakes it is the ability to truly stop are slow down.

geat answer thirdwheel, but i thnik my wife would just get up and beat me! I was considering pulling a seado to the lake. Hopefully when i get mine triked.

I have a small harbor freight trailer in the winter I haul wood with it. it holds quite a bit. I like to say I don't need no truck.

Nothing yet looking to get a small cargo trailer, I have carried a 12 pack of toilet paper on the luggage rack and brought home a toilet seat the same way. Have also carried a jumbo bag of 'Packing Peanuts' on the back seat.
