I have an 08 wing csc 2010 conversion, just got back from a 9600 mile trip to alaska, my recommendation, carry some good maps with you, do online research on highway via google maps b4 you take a trip, then ignore that gps from honda, if I followed its directions I would have been in a LAKE b4 I left pennsylvania, the GPS STINKS, sad but true
I agree that the Goldwing Navi leaves something to be desired, but we are also using old, outdated data and software. I talked to Garmin and they are coming out with a new version of both for us the 3rd quarter of this year. I'm going to shell out the $149 and give it a try as I really like having the onboard Navi. If you want to check it out, go to

Make sure you scroll down and check to see if you are getting the newest version. As of today, it was still listing version 9. The one coming out next month is going to be version 10.

If you upgrade it would be great to get a report on its usefulness, honestly, on a 9500 mile trip to alaska I was disappointed in its ability to accurately describe the road I was on,,seeing the it was the TRANS CANADA HIGHWAY the main way across that country you would think it would be more accurate in its directions. am heading to key west in november, thinking of packing my nuvi just in case it starts the UNVERIFIED ROAD when I am on I-95
TMig...Love Key Largo. Many fond memories of visits to my Cousin Gene's place there over the years. Since he passed, his wife Connie and his kids have kept the place up as a getaway for friends and family...Ya gotta love La Famiglia!

yea canada is just as easy, ONE ROAD THE GOES ACROSS their country, Honda gps, continually told me I was off route,,,annoying, if I wanted that kinda of nagging I would get married again:no:,,,no as I have mentioned I am a UM grad,,,as are my daughters, been to kw TOOO many times, but thats never enough times,,,,,REMEBER,,,,Sharkeys for a game of pool and a cold one,,,or two!!! then off to the no name for some pizza in the morning,,,,
I'll do that and let you all know if it was worth it. In the mean time, though you probably already know this, I normally just disable the audio portion of the NAVI so I don't have to listen to it's announcements and just use it to glance at the screen from time to time. It's still kinda like a nagging wife, but at least it's easy to ignore.

You read more into my post than I intended. I never implied that "I" have a nagging wife. Quite the contrary, she is a dream and I adore her entirely. (Except when she grabs the key to the trike and takes off!!!!) I was just referring to what I have read in posts of less fortunate husbands as you and I.
