I purchased and installed, then took 2,500 mile trip. Mount performed flawlessly, puts GPS right where I wanted it, and is easy to install. I think it was money well spent.
I then found a video camera shade and modified it to work with my GPS to help reduce glare on the screen. The combo makes a good package.

Laws may vary State to State on mounting windshield electronic devices on any vehicle. It is something you might research in the prevention of costly traffic stops. I haven't done any research, but have read articles that confusion exists. Personally, I think the vent mount is a perfect location for the device.

I don't know how you guys can put something in your field of view. The mail slot is bad enough. But putting a complete block in the way?
I prefer mine on the handlebar. I listen to directions more than I look at the screen anyway.
Took me awhile to find something other than those ugly Ram mounts though.

hogcowboy - what mounts did you get? Always willing to entertain alternative solutions.
I personally don't mind the RAM mounts. They work well, the
mounts on the bike aren't specific to just 1 device, they have a lifetime warrantee, (After 10 years on the bike the rubber got hard and didn't hold well. RAM sent me new ones, no cost to me.) though I do agree they may not be the prettiest thing on the trike.
Some folks swear by the Butler mug holder, and I think that it is shave-the-dog's-butt-and-make-him-walk-backwards ugly. But it is functional and it works. Same with the RAM mounts - all our bikes got balls.

It's a Küryakyn mount best seen in the installation instructions I think. My 660LM completelely hides it where the Ran mount was so big that part of it would always show. I wanted a more permanent mount where I used the GPS cover to go over the pin slots. I'm very pleased with it. But it is on the handlebar and not up there in your line of sight. It's like a ram mount just smaller. Much smaller.

On my windshield the EZ mount puts the GPS just below my normal line of sight so that when I'm looking down the road nothing interferes with my vision. Yet, with a glance downward the information is right there with my eyes see able to see much of my environment. My old GPS mount was attached to the clutch reservoir and that required a much longer diversion of my sight to read.
It only took a few miles for me to get adjusted to new GPS location and I love it. It's really no different that the normal cluster of instruments a driver has near his view such as the speedometer and tach.

Is the EZ Mount a permanent installation? I looked on the the EZ Mount website but the pictures don't really show much.
In my case the GPS and RAM cradle move from the bikes to trikes to cars as needed. The EZ Mount position is neat, but the ease of transferring the unit vehicle to vehicle with the RAM system is a plus.

You could do it that way by installing the 1 inch ram ball extension. (Although that might add too much weight) I just unclip the GPS from the Ram mount and use the original suction cup mount that came with the GPS for the car and leave the Ram mount and shade installed on the bike.

Hey Guys, Thanks for the input. Still looking & thinking. I honestly believe that the EZ Mount is a little higher than I would like.
