    Default Kill the green light in the tach

    Can the green warning light mounted in the tach for the fog lights be un plugged ? That sucker is so damn bright it is distracting.

    Cut a piece of black tape into a circle just a little larger than the light, and stick it on the tach over the light...

    I'd thought of doing that, I'm hoping the power source can be un plugged.

    I've never done it and will check my assembly manual but think it's a serviceable bulb. I'd just pull the bezel out of the back of the tach and pull the bulb out.

    If you can unplug it un-like my tape idea, Where you can still see a little light telling you the brights are on.. How many times are oncoming [Angry] drivers going to flash their brights at you telling you to shut yours off..

    But that LED element still has to be able to be removed from the tach... !!!

    Sadly, the LED is attached to the pc board inside the housing for the speedo/tach assy that is a sealed unit. That is why it costs out the ying yang to replace it. I have a white opaque sticker that says "Crashing Sucks." I will trim it to fit the lower half of the tach. The green will shine through but not as blinding. I will also be able to see the high beam, R and, P indicator lamps through it.

    So, my final answer A piece of dark window tinting over it. Will dull down the glow but, you can still be aware your hi-beams are on But then, I never really needed an "idiot light" to indicate to me my brights were on

    Default Done purposely

    The take from several techs I inquired of is that the motor co is intent on discouraging night time use of the fog lights. They would prefer that we purchase the new engine guard mount lights. The exact reason I have Moto Lights. Much better as the light beam follows the direction of the headlight.

    I'm pretty sure this thread was about the AUX lamps green indicator lamp staying lit all the time ... not the high beam indicator.

    My 2014 AUX lamps were re-programmed to stay on with both high and low beams. I like it that way... and it is legal in my State. They are aimed to show closer road surfaces so I can pick up pot holes and road debris easier at night. The low beam without them is pitiful for seeing problems.

    I only regulate the high and low center LED lamp.

    The idea of a circle of black tape would work best for me.
