    Default IMC Trike Kit ??

Anyone know or have any experience with this company .
They have a nice looking IRS kit.
Have been in business in California around 5 years but I cant find much about them with searches.
My current rides, all modified in some way.

So... 3 years?? Have you found out more about IMC?

I'm looking into them now for possible conversion.

Never heard of them. Their current web site was a date of 2017 for the web site design. Looks well made in the pictures.

I did buy one. Very well made, nice ride. Unfortunately any turn or quick dodge you better be hanging on as the lean out is terrible. The owner worked with me and by putting way heaver springs on all 4 shocks it improved but the soft ride went away. Also the fender brackets are too flimsey so the fenders flop up and down , corrected it by adding stiffeners to them but that was after the right one caught the tire causing a slice in the tire and bending the fender, lucky it was at slow speed. I dont know if the company has corrected any of this but I know the owner was aware of my problems. I ended up selling mine after one year. There is a pic of it on their web site, rear view with wood box says Charlie Wisconsin. One more thing the MPG is very bad compared to several other trikes I have built,. My favorite kit is the Frankenstein.

Well first you have one more tire on the ground to drive so that adds to the power necessary to move it. And also the trike is way less aero-dynamic than any 2 wheeler so more resistance. Hence lower MPG.

That's not exactly what I was asking about, but why one trike kit would be so different from another on a given bike.

different kits have different size tires there for different resistance. their bodies offer different wind resistance. kits also have different gearing. all that plays into the equation. and some are more fun to ride ie more throttle play. OR sometimes they end up being just different. Bottom line is to ride and enjoy.

    Cool IMC Trike IRS Kit

I had a Frankenstein rear-end the price and looks were ok but the ride was extremely rough unless I was on a really smooth road. I also didn't feel comfortable with the one center brake in the rain or in wet areas

I ended up replacing it a couple years ago with an IMC Trike (IRS) independent rear suspension rear end. The craftsmanship is excellent and super cool looking. It's well very built, high quality and rides smooth on rough roads as well as mountains and on the Highway. It came standard with outer dual brakes so in the rain it performs good.

To date I haven't had any problems with it and am very happy with the ride

I am currently in the process of installing the IMC Trike kit. Can I ask what bike you put it on? Did you so it yourself? Did yo go with a body or just fenders? Mine is a Yamaha Raider so there have been a few issues installing because it is modeled for an HD. I've been working with the owner getting the issues worked out but it seems a little slow at times.

What about what someone said earlier about pitching in the turns, any issues?

I'm looking at the IMC conversion. I have a 2020 Tri-Glide but the stock rear is so rough riding a long ride wears me out. I looked at just changing out the shocks but didn't want to invest that much and still not like the ride. I'm 74 so a smooth ride is important to me. I've been to the IMC shop here in Arizona, they're only 15 miles from me. I was going to get one to convert my 2014 Ultra Classic but I would have to get the body and all of the other item to make it complete. With the Tri Glide I should only need the kit so I'm looking into it as a way to smooth out the. Would like to hear from anyone that has the IMC kit.

Just came back from the IMC shop and I'm almost ready to pull the trigger. If you're putting it on a TG it's basically a plug and play situation. Their reverse motor plugs into the factory reverse button, they plug into the existing ABS brake system and use the factory parking brake system. They also have an electric parking brake option. The existing wheels bolt right on or you can upgrade to a 5 lug spindle to increase your wheel options and the existing body is a bolt on situation. They have a 4 shock suspension system that uses the factory shocks in 2 of the position so you can use the factory pre-load system. All in all it was an impressive looking unit.

I'm heading back down to the IMC shop on Thursday and will most likely pull the trigger on the IRS kit. I'll be posting photos of the build.

Well, it's a done deal now. I should receive the kit in a few weeks, I wanted it powder coated so he has to disassemble a unit and send it out to be coated then reassemble it. I'll start to disassemble mine in time to be ready when it arrives. He says that it will probably take as much time to remove the OEM unit as it will to install the IRS. I've got the factory service manuals so I hope I won't have trouble. He has an OEM unit in his shop so I took a look at it, it is a heavy looking unit.

Wondering what they charge for changing the oem trike rear out to their IRS and how long it would take. This would make for a nice road trip/vacation.

I am waiting to see your opinion on the ride after converting.
Texas; 254 counties and I have ridden through them all! Got my pin from my Congress Lady congratulating me on completing my journey.

Jim, after talking to several IMC customers, we became a dealer for them and have converted one TG with the IMC and about to do our second one. The design and workmanship is 100% top shelf. Very happy with the company and its owner and the product. I have a local customer you can call and get some honest feedback from and another local guy who saw the first one and was so impressed he had me order one for his bike. Shoot me a PM if you want to talk to me or either of them. I can post up some before, during and after pics here too if you want.

He had installed upgrade shocks to try and get a more comfortable ride but was still unhappy with the solid axle ride. This fellow had done his research on IMC and came to us looking to have us order a kit and install it on his wife's TriGlide (pictured). This was our first install about a month ago.
