    Default Pain in arms

I must be doing something wrong as I ride only for an hour or so and my shoulders and elbows are sore. Takes a day or so or the pain to ease up. Left arm was hurt in a accident years ago and I can't get it to go over about 45 degrees straight. Thought about different bars but don't want to spend money on things that might not help. Guess this getting old sucks. Don't really want to sell the trike but if that what it takes it will go. Only 8k on my 2016 tri glide.

Had same problem years ago on 2 wheelers . Have put the "pull-back" touring bars on every bike since then & no more probs. Getting ready to buy a new Tri & first thing I did was get on it to try the bars. Dealer said he would replace them with the pull backs.

    Best of luck.

Don't know if you have the lift kit or not, But if you don't , Putting it on will lighten the steering effort some what...

The 2+2 Krome werks bars are what alot of people are using with the same problems. I have Brucidious in my shoulders and was told to get them. If I can't sell my trike, that will be my next project.

Default Changed Handle bars New Machine

I went from shoulder and neck pain to go all day. I crashed in 1974 July 5 to be exact. limited rotation right shoulder stiff right wrist since then. October 2013 purchased shiney went through hell with back and shoulder pain all summer and fall. Made the choice to change bars or what ever it took to be able to ride.

Khrome werks 2+2 WIDE SWEEPERS made all the difference in the world these are wider, higher and back farther, I love them worked for me and do not cost an arm and a leg. With a shop manual and Triglide supplement any one that has any ability at all can do the work. ride safely fearless

    Default Push not Pull

    67Wizard,

Be sure you are pushing the bars to turn not pulling, pulling will cause pain. You may know this if you do quit reading, otherwise, Lean back against your back rest, lock your push arm at the elbow and use the other arm as a light guide. Body weight then does all the work rather than your arms. If your bars don't fit you then the above advice is spot on. If you are using your arm strength to turn rather than pushing you will always feel the pain. I only suggest this because most people do it wrong coming from bikes to trikes.

Hope you can solve it and not give up on your trike

Something that worked for me I discovered by accident. I moved my backrest up about an inch. Changed the whole geometry of my steering apparently. Like you, I was thinking I made a huge mistake because of all the shoulder pain I was having. Just this little adjustment reduced the pain by over 90%. If you use a backrest, it's something you could give a try.

Thanks for all the ideas. I can't go any wider as my left arm will not go straight. Elbow was shadered years ago when a lady hit me head on. I have a back rest and moved it forward didn't help. Maybe different bars that come back farther. I stand 6'2" arms about 33 in.

67wizard, you wouldn't by changes have the part number around hand for those Khrome Werks 2+2 handle bars?

I have the hd pullback bars as well as the backrest. Those helped a lot too. The final adjustment I made was moving the backrest forward.

The handlebars aren't any wider, they just are 2 inches further back toward you. Helps tremendously in my opinion. Just a little expensive to do unless you're a good wrencher.

I have the HD's 2" pull backs which do's help, but, would be a little nicer if they where about 1/2" closer to me and a little higher. From what I'm seeing in Mr Wizards picture, those bars he has are sitting higher than the HD's pull back bars, which I would enjoy having also.
