Last week my wife and I purchased a 2006 GL1800 Lehman Monarch II platinum in color with just under 15k miles from the Honda dealer in Rapid City (will post a picture soon). We owned a Valkyrie Interstate Motor Trike conversion from about 2003 to 2012 and it was primarily the wife's bike however I did do an Ironbutt on it. I had to change out the almost beach bars for her with set back risers so it would be easier for her to steer (she's on 5'2"). My initial impression is that the Goldwing is much easier to steer and the handling feels more stable. I have a HD Road Glide with a Voyager kit that I was hoping would be more like a trike but on a trip to Kentucky 2 years ago pulling my trailer the drive belt stretched and we ended up driving the car to KY. I obviously exceeded the GVW of the Road Glide and it wasn't an expensive fix but I lost confidence in it and started thinking 'drive shaft'. With Sturgis Bike Week coming up I will probably try to sell it. In the late 80s I had a '75 Goldwing GL1000 and absolutely loved it! With advancing age and severe knee arthritis (runner back in 70s & 80s) I'm glad we made the decision to go back to 3 wheels.
