I had a Hanningan Trike Kit. What do I have to remove to start to replace driveshaft and is the factory used in this driveline? Do I have to drop rear end or take the body off?

Russell, I think you will need to provide just a bit more information before we can help a lot. Which kit do you have and why are you replacing the drive shaft. I doubt you will have to remove the body at all to drop the drive shaft. Sorry I don't know about Hannigan kits but I'm sure someone will chime in soon. Have you contacted Hannigan or a dealer to see if they have parts available. If it's just a bad U-Joint issue any good parts store or preferably a bearing supply would be able to get you the correct parts.

The rear has to be dropped but, not to much!
Can you advise why it needs replaced?

Maybe ..... but my experience with bad U-joints that are worn is they typically start out vibrating under no load conditions like when you roll the throttle between coast and power, in that zone where the engine isn't slowing ... nor accelerating ... the vehicle.
As they wear in use there comes a point where they develop excessive play between bearing rollers and cross trunions and in use a load tends to cause the cross to center itself .... but in that narrow ranger between coast & power when there is NO load in either direction, they'll let a shaft flop like a jump rope. Ignore them, they never get better .... then one day "bang" ..... and you're a pedestrian.
