I went this year and last year. It's a good rally and they offer lots of guided rides to all the main attractions/sights in the area (Devil's Tower, Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Badlands, and others). Since we live only 400 miles away, we've seen and done all those sights many times, so we do our own rides while at the rally. The people putting on the rally do a good job and this year offered the chance to see a show at one of the casinos on the last night. The biggest plus? It's nice to be able to ride around the Black Hills with normal traffic and not the Sturgis rush. It's fun to see all the different trikes and some are really interesting looking. I think our favorite was a Smartcar that was converted to a trike. It actually looks better as a trike than a car. It's just a fun time to ride around some beautiful country and see so many trikes on the road.

We're planning on attending next year, but won't attempt to ride the distance. We'll trailer the scooter. Good to hear it is a enjoyable experience and look forward to the trip next year. Would have attended this year, but while the spirit was willing, the old body just couldn't muster up the necessaries.

Hi Jack,
Thanks for the . Not only is the 3rd Annual Deadwood 3 Wheeler Rally sound like fun, it's much more than that..., SO MUCH MORE! As TT/T.O.I.'s Coordinator for the rally, I'll be posting numerous times again as time goes on and as we approach its starting date, July 11th. The block of rooms at the host hotel, First Gold and Gaming, is starting to dwindle and I'd recommend an early registration to be assured a room at a reduced rate. I hope other members will check out the rally's website: www.d3wr.com and that when they do, I'm sure will arrive at the same conclusion as you. Teresa Schanzenbach, the event coordinator, as well as myself, will be more than happy to answer any questions. Teresa's phone number and email address are given on the rally's website and mine at the bottom of this post. Hope to see you and many other fellow TT/T.O.I. trikers there!
Regards and Ride Safe,
Paul M.

Hi Joe,
Thank you for registering... Coming from Florida deserves a special thanks! Are you riding or trailering your trike? Are you coming with friends or just you and your co-pilot? Whichever, we're glad you decided to sign up and I promise you won't be disappointed. To answer your question about seeing a sign up listing of TT members who will be attending, funny that you should ask as I've previously asked Randy, with the assistance of wife Marge, to provide just that. I'll be following up with this request by giving Randy a call next week to see if such a listing is possible. In the meantime, stay tuned to this channel as more will be said about this great event. Your help would be appreciated if you would spread the word among your "triker" friends.
Regards,
Paul M.

Paul, I'm coming from Florida in a round-about-way. We tow the TG behind our motorhome on a Aluma Trike trailer. End of April we will make our way up to central Illinois to visit family/friends. First part of June we will wonder out west and end up in Salem OR for my daughter wedding. Then the first of July start a northern route over toward Deadwood. After that we will wonder over through Michigan and then down to Chicago before heading back to the Sunshine state. I tried to get my buddy that I ride with weekly (2017 TG) to consider the rally but he had already made other plans for their summer travel. He said they probably would attend next year though.
I just thought the attendance list would be interesting as it gets closer to see who could be coming in from our direction or who could be RVing into the rally pulling their trike.
Safe Riding,
Joe
Been a TT member since 2010 and made reservations for the Deadwood Rally. Have done Sturgis but this is our first one in Deadwood. Leaving from northern Colorado so not very far away. Teresa was great to work with. Looking forward to the rally and riding the Black Hills again.
Hi Joe,
Yes, an attendees list would certainly be nice and very helpful to me as well, since I'm assisting Teresa in the early planning stages of the rally. When putting on any kind of gathering, having an idea as to the numbers that will attend, is quite important to the success of the gathering. Hopefully, with the help of Randy and his wife Marge, a "sticky" thread can be created on the forum, where attendees can indicate who they are (TT screen name), where they're from, whether they're trailering or riding their trike and their lodging preference motel or camping. Thank you for your input and suggestion.
Regards,
Paul M.

Hi Bob,
Just like to say I'm glad to read that you're registered for the rally and I look forward to meeting you. As you may have read on one of my earlier posts, I'll be hosting a ride event through the Spearfish Canyon at 1:00 pm on Friday, July 14th, in appreciation of and to introduce TT/T.O.I. becoming a supporting partner of the rally. I hope that you will schedule my event in during your stay. Thank you...!

My Wife and I attended the 2016 Rally and had a blast, Teresa did a wonderful job and seems to be improving the rally each year. We rode the whole distance on a 2014 Can Am Spyder RTS towing a trailer, while we did encounter some wind and rain we enjoyed the trip immensly. We just got a 2nd 2014 Spyder RTS for the wife. We already have plans to attend the 5th annual deadwood rally in 2019 since we have other plans for this year and next. We enjoyed Deadwood and surrounding area and there is much we didn't get to see, so am looking forward to going back.
Hi Bob,
Thanks for your comments and the "plug" for the rally. I wish that I could say that I made your acquaintance while attending the rally last year, but there were quite a few Spyder owners there as there's going to be this year, I'm sure. I think you could have counted the number of Stallion owners on one hand. We're sort of a rare breed, but we sure have a lot of fun whenever and wherever there are trikes and trikers. Glad to read that you and your wife had a good time while attending the rally and I look forward to your next visit. Just don't make it too long, ok? Ride Safe!

Not sure if I met you or not, there were a number of stallions there and I think I saw yours. One of our spyder club members has a stallion, and one had a slingshot. It's all about 3 wheels! We saw and did everything we could cram in to that trip but next time we are coming down early to spend a day in Keystone and attend the Bruilee concert in hill city. We saw that last year and loved it. There were just so many things we couldn't get to having run out of time since we were headed to yellowstone right after the rally. If anyone hasn't been to the Deadwood area they are in for a treat, there is just so much to see and do!
Registered & staying at 1st Gold. Riding out from Ohio, & hope to meet up with you & Casper in Mitchell,SD for last leg in.
One thing that was mentioned both at the 1st and 2nd events is the lack of vendors, prices for registering as a vendor were quite high last year and several really good vendors that maybe would have attended did not. Attendees really look for these vendors to get stuff installed on their bikes, me included. So take these things into consideration when planning, and you will get the draw. Red Rocks has some very great vendors as does NorCal which we are going to next year. I do love visiting South Dakota and am looking forward to visiting again, and plan on coming a little early to get some of those extras in.
Hi Bill,
Glad that I saw your post which probably should have been sent as a PM instead. Any event, Frank and I will be anxiously waiting your arrival in Mitchell SD on the 10th of July. Hopefully I'd like find a couple more TT member trikers that are going to the rally that will be entering SD from the east. If you're one of those that reads this post and would like to join Frank (Casper), Bill (PosseRider) and I (pmar6004) for a group ride-along to the rally, drop me a PM. My email address is at the bottom of all my posts.
