I am the new owner of a 2012 TriGlide. I have yet to see the bike as I live in the Islands and it resides in California. My BIL handled the lookover. We have ridden together since high school. (now early 60's)
My island ride is a 2003 Road King with a 2012 Liberty sidecar. I have had the Road King since new and installed the sidecar after hip and knee replacements. Although I feel fitter and am pain free and more mobile than ever, I decided to stick to three wheels as I live on the side of a volcano and holding up an 850# motorcycle at a stop sign on a steep incline no longer held any appeal.
I am a convert to sidecars and shipped mine to the mainland in 20214 for a 6,000 mile trip to Sturgis and other places. (roundtrip from San Diego) The trip was exceptional.... only rained on 2 hours max the entire time and not all at once.
I decided to look for something to leave on the mainland to avoid the hassles of shipping. Renting was not an option because my reflexes are now tuned to a sidecar rig which is WAY different than two wheels. I am not willing to test my abilities to alternate learned reflexes at my age. ;-)
I have a good idea in my head of how the trike will differ from the sidecar in maneuvering and obstacle avoidance, but not having ridden one, I would love some comments and thoughts from those who have ridden both.
