battery location on a vintage Cobra trike?

NFG guy just south of Houston here. Does anyone know where the battery is located on a Cobra trike? It's coming in via haulbikes tomorrow after going cross country and the driver said the battery is down. It would be a lot more fun to drive it off the trailer than push it.

Welcome aboard. I do not have one of those but the trikes like that I have had the battery was on a tray in the rear by the axle. I bet yours will be around there also. That is a big area that has room for a battery. Ride safe and good luck with that nice looking trike.

As it turned out, the problem was they were trying to start it in N and the interlock on the transmission locked it out. It fired on the 2nd crank once it went back to park. I spent the day getting it set up for me, and with any luck, will ride tomorrow. I want to get the inspection done tomorrow, if at all possible, so I can get real tags for it next week. It's a pretty kewl piece of history, the VIN tag says 1989. I moved the brake pedal forward by 4 inches and to the right 1 inch, so it's getting closer. As luck would have it, the weather goddess sent rain today. The outlook tomorrow is a bit better.
Wishing everyone a safe ride and weekend.

Glad your getting all set up and ready to roll... And you didn't need a battery..
Just curious where was the battery located...

It passed inspection this morning, no problems. One step closer to getting real tags for it. There was some question about whether it was home made, but I had the title and that settled it. Apparently home made has to be inspected by the State.

It's a blast to ride, and I worked on my forward brake controls a bit more, clearance wise. The looks it gets are priceless. One of those little foreign "brap, brap" cars came along side and he looked like he was in park up against a V-8. The idle speed picked up with the addition of fresh gas, so I need to tweak it down. Other than that, everything went smooth as silk. It's a weird sensation to ride right down the middle of the lane too, after all the years of picking one side or the other on two wheels. Today was my first ride in a little over two years and it sure feels good to have the wind in my face again.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I lurked here a while once I knew I was joining the trike world and this place struck me as a lot different than some others I checked out.
My wife rides a Spyder and rides fairly regularly. It's going to be fun to be able to ride with her again and make one of the gatherings planned here. She's going to the Beaumont women's rally at the end of September and both of us will be in Galveston for the Lone Star.
