Parked for a while.....

1994 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 with Tow-Pac. Got it 3 years and 16,000 miles ago.
Everything fine until last Friday. Went for my morning ride, came home, left trike in driveway. An hour or so later , went to put it in garage and it wouldn't start. Pushed it into garage, plugged battery tender in and left it alone. Next morning, it started right up so I figured the day before, I must have flooded it. Took another ride, plugged it back in to tender when I returned. Sunday morning it wouldn't start at all. Put it on a regular charger since it spun over kinda slow. Still won't start this morning.

I called local dealer to order a new battery, but I'm beginning to suspect a bigger problem may be present.

I'm no mechanic so I'll let dealer figure it out.

Main problem now is getting it to the shop. I do not have a trailer or access to one and shop is 10 miles away. Not sure how local law enforcement would feel about towing it behind my car.

Most dealerships have a shop truck for many reasons, picking up a customers bike, included.
Have you inquired at the shop you intend taking it to?
I've seen trucks for hire on craigslist, but not all are good guys.
Towing it behind your 4 wheel vehicle probably wouldn't be a wise move though.

How old is the battery....
I would Put a battery in yourself..... Change the simplest thing first... ;Occams Razor Theory ...
If that doesn't work then try the dealer ...

sounds like a classic case of dead battery maybe caused by a non charging situation... Where in Illinois are you?? - I used to live there and perhaps I can recommend a dealer who can pick it up for you and fix it...

Reading post #1 , seems like it's 3yrs old.
check the bat voltage after sitin over nite. Not 12.5 - 12.7 volts, Done for new

Change the battery yourself if possible. Better then a 75% chance that is the problem.

Had dealer order a new battery. Should be in tomorrow and he will pick trike up.

Back on the road. Turns out it was a simple battery replacement needed. Running fine now.Trike checked out fine in other areas.

Some times its the simple things that you have to try first....Occams Razor Theory....

Some times it is the simplest things needing replaced. Ride safe and have fun
