Lower wind deflectors

A little help and your opinion please. When riding at higher speeds it feels as though the wind is lifting my feet off of the foot pegs. I was wondering if I could mount wind deflectors to alleviate this problem. I have an engine guard that I could possibly mount the to. Please let me know what you think.

Can't tell from that pic. Do you use them? I've looked at several online but haven't pulled the trigger yet. Hoping to get some input from someone that knows.

Nope. Mine has the permanent wind deflectors because it's a water head. I had a set on a motorcycle I owned a little over 10 years ago. Did a decent job, especially when it got cooler out.

On my older TriGlide I can remove my lowers and have done so. Old Shiney actually runs cooler with them on I don't remove them except for servicing needs. They are nice for rain and cold air. You may very well like them. Watch Flea bay pick them up reasonable. ride safely fearless

Thanks. I think those might just do the trick. I've done a little research and my only concern is that I'm not sure which ones to get. I have an aftermarket engine guard that I bought through the local bike shop who got it from "bikers choice". It kind looks like yours. Where did you get your lowers?

Blksheep, The soft lowers sure look like they'll keep the wind off your feet, but how much cooling air will they keep away from the engine? A lot I'd suspect. I had a similar problem with my feet slipping off the foot pegs and rotated them a little toward the rear helped me with that.

I'm running the OEM lowers on my 2015 FLRT. Really does the job. They can be removed if you want (I leave them on).

I had the HD brand engine guard and the HD brand soft lowers for my Tri-Glide (and I still have them and use them sometimes on my Softail with the HD brand engine guard). I would contact the MFG. of the engine guard you have and ask them which soft lowers will fit on it.

If the engine guard has similar angles as the HD brand, and if the soft lowers are designed "correctly", then the air that is caught by the soft lowers will be funneled/directed toward the engine for extra air flow across the engine for improved cooling.

Like Kevin said, the factory soft lowers bow inward as wind hits them and funnels it towards the engine.
