Way to go, Steve . You'll have her asking to ride in no time!
Got Mamma to get on the bike and go for a short ride tonight. We're in our 50's, and she's never been on a bike. She was hesitating since I got the trike. But this week I started telling her if she wasn't go to come on some rides with me, I was going to sell it and go to two wheels.
She liked it. I don't think she's ready for a tour, but we'll work on that.........

OOOOH....You're in trouble! You will never get away from her now! Quick go pump up the rear tires to like 50 lbs., drive like a mad man, take her for the ride of her life! Save yourself man, while you have a chance! LOL
Take it slow for the first 8 -10 rides . increase the distance and speed gradually . My sister in law would not sit on a bike even not running . Her significant other bought a 650 Burgman , She had him install a back rest and rear grips and she rode white knuckle all last year . This year I see her take off with him while she was fixing her helmet 1/2 way down the street NO hands
Round two tonight. A jaunt down along the beach. Leaving in a few minutes. Probably be no more than an hour.
Baby-steps. Wonder how long it'll be before I can talk her into Americade??

Great job! Now start saving those nickles and dimes, she's gonna want one!

I think a Wing trike for the two of us is more realistic.
Did a nice mellow 50 miles up the beach and back. She liked it. Matter of fact, she has an appointment with her hair stylist tomorrow, and is going to ask her about cuts that won't be too messed up when she takes her helmet off.

Show her that you can take it out to go and eat , and shop . worked for me . Plan I buying a trailer to tow. <LOL>
Great Job Steve.....I hope She develops a Real Love for Ridin'.....GOOD LUCK to Both of You.....:wtg:
ScalpHunter created a monster in me from our first ride on his Ultra in 05, on IH-35 for an hour, no less. I'd never been on any bike before that. Loved that bike and my Sportster 1200 (both Anniversary Edition 03s), but wouldn't go back to two wheels for anything. Now that we're getting up there, we're feeling much more secure and more independent than we ever were on two wheels, making long (really long - 3300 miles to VA, NC, TN last month; 4700 in our August upcoming trip out west). We ride fast and long and feel great doing it! We also take the trailer to the grocery store, go together to get the trike serviced (I get a free lunch out of it!), and sometimes he takes me and picks me up when I get my nails done. The nail lady has a crush on him!
What a beautiful report, Nancy! Love it

Nancy that's how it's suppose to be done. It's a means of doing things together.

Steve that is great the only times our bike went out with out my wife was when I went to the filling station or over to my brothers house which is only about five miles away.
My wife loved to ride, when she passed away back in Febuary I really thought about selling it and give up riding, but I new she would not want that.
WHile I have put over two thousand miles on the bike this summer it still is not the same.
Ihope you and your wife both can get the enjoyment out of riding Carolyn and I did through the years.

Thanks Jim, and very sorry for your loss. It's wonderful that the two of you shared something that closely.
