...and they said it won't fit

I think the black works better with silver.Had the bumper powder coated black and the trunk latch thingy.Plan is to do all trim accessories in black. The luggage rack on the tour pack is black also.

There are so many parts in the p&a catalog that the Mo Co says won't fit various scoots. That just tells me they've never tried.

I think your wrong ' Its not that they never tried , It just that the braintrusts at Design aren't capable of handling a screwdriver let alone installing a newly design part..

Except these are parts that have been around for a long time. The front fender trim is a classic example. The one with the rubber piece in it will fit as well. Notice the rear fender tip light is missing on the '17 touring bikes ? Guess what. The hole is still there in the '17 fender and the plug is there at the back of the taillight housing. Simple p-n-p.

All it takes is to change a screw, bolt nut size or length & you have a new product number. Usually just a suffix letter with the same number. With this new number system I don't know how they update mods.
If you have to take something off to install the part they always said it wouldn't work. But with the seats now they tell you that you have to remove the grab bar on some seats.
Remember, you are their test bed !

Was it a natural bolt up? No,not really. First of course, the fender bolts have to be change,as stock is to short.

I used 5/16 X 18 X 2 for the rear and 5/16 X 18 X 2.5 for the front.Grade 8 with good lock nuts and blue loctite. The bolts need to be longer in the front to compensate for the rail thickness. Actually 2.5 is a little too long, but they don't make a 2.25.I changed all 4 so they matched.

I did have to drill a 1/4 inch hole in the fender for a 1/4-20 X 1/2 screw.Other than that everything lined right up. The head of the screw is a little thick and interferes with the light. So I ground down 1/2 of the head and cleaned the slot with a hacksaw.

30-45 minutes tops.Had to stop for cigarette and coffee.

Drilling a hole in the fender will most likely void my drive train warranty.:Coffee:
