Can Am Spyders

I ride a 113ci V-twin Yamaha, with a CSC conversion, custom paint, Vance & Hines headers and loud pipes, and my wife rides a box stock semi-automatic Spyder RT that is so quit (that way you can hear my trike better!). Now which trike is better.......ask me and it's no contest, my Yamaha conversion!! Ask my wife, it's no contest, the Spyder RT!
So, we ride what give us pleasure and anything else doesn't matter. It may take a few shots to get the right trike, but when you do it's a big smile and miles of open road ahead!

I think all the years I own the Harleys with the Loud/Deep pipes. And went over to the Spyder. I found out how much I like the Quiet :D and I can hear once I stop.. I have hearing loss and cant afford to loose anymore of my hearing

Those Spyders have a deep rumble all their own once they are broke in good. I was rather surprised myself with my wife's 12. She now has a 16 so it's too new but I can already tell it will be different but great.

Trikermutha, I know so many folks that have lost part or most of their hearing to industrial or fun pursuits. I used to do a lot of competitive shooting and always made sure my ears were covered. When I ride, I never go without foam ear plugs that have at least a 29 db attenuation. Wind noise is reportedly as destructive or more destructive to hearing than engine/pipes.

I agree..Been in the industrial part for many, many years and regret not pursuing ear protection . Wind noise I never really thought about that until recent..MAybe because I do have hearing loss now..:AGGHH:

I always wore ear plugs at work when I had a job that required it and when shooting a pistol. I never did with a rifle until I shot a .22-250. That sucker demanded it. And I never did for riding. Then one morning I woke up and could barely hear from my right ear. I thought it was just wax but it didn't improve when I tried flushing it with peroxide mix.

They call it Sudden Hearing Loss Syndrome. DUH!!! No kidding. So I started wearing my ear plugs when riding as well now.

I really can't afford anymore loss but since they have no idea what really causes this sudden loss thing, who knows if I'll lose it in the other ear anyway.

They do suspect a virus and I did have a cold shortly before the loss.

So if that's the case the plugs won't help anyway. But I figure at this point what do I have to lose except my hearing so may as well try to stop any further loss.

It is nice not hearing my wife bitch at me sometimes though.:)

Cowboy, do you ride a Spyder or a Harley brand. You user name leads me to believe you ride a Harley trike.

Not unless you want to remove the cat and weight. You may get a bit more HP but loose on the torque a bit. I really see no benefit.

It will have more noise too. From the videos I has seen and heard between the pipe and muffler change it sounds like one of them cars on the fast and furious :D

I have a 14 and have no heat problems and am happy with the bikes response when
giving it gas.

I agree with that statement. The F3 S with the shorter muffler is quite loud with the cat bypass. I have reached the age where I just don't enjoy the noise anymore!

I rode Harleys for years and ranch which is where I got my road name from friends. You don't just up and change a road name. I now ride a Indian. Wife is on a Spyder. Although it was supposed to be mine. I fooled them after an accident and can almost walk. So I'm still on two until I can't.
