Wish the M8 was a bit more like the EVO in the bottom end other than that I like mine

Barnett Harley Davidson has the heated jacket liner for 150 , it plugs into a leading a d you hook to battery . Rode Saturday morning with it on low and was warm , outside temp was 37.
Was reading the reviews on Amazon. One guy complained about the battery shape and capacity, so he rigged the jacket to use one of those jump start battery packs. Claimed the M12 battery was 2000 mAH, his battery pack is 10,000 mAH. He's been using it a year now and really likes it...
My ex wife's broom has a smoother ride I'll bet than the factory shocks.

Mike, It sounds like Clint has come up with a solution for your problems. Owing to the fact that he owns a trike with IRS and made such a positive recommendation, it sounds like you might be a lot happier with your ride if you upgraded to the best shocks that DK Products is offering. They are currently having a 10% off sale as well. In their literature, they even state that they will tune your shocks prior to sending them to you so you will get the benefit of their extensive research on the Tri Glide's ride qualities and how they went about improving them. That way, you have the 103 that you want to stick with for the present time but would have the benefit of an apparently much better ride.
The 10% off only applies to DK Custom manufactured products. I was not able to use it on my shock order. It does not apply to the shocks because they are manufactured by someone else.
I have really high hopes for the performance of the new rear shocks on our 2017 Tri Glide.
Ride Safe All,
Bill G
Through Jesus Christ, I a sinner am saved. Not by my doing but through his doing by his sacrifice and Blood Shed on the Cross. His gift to all mankind that will only believe and accept him by Faith. Through his Death and Resurrection I am Saved by Grace and someday I will be with our Lord in Heaven forever.
Wow Bill G, With your M8-powered TGU and the Pro-Action Street Series shocks from DK Customs for your ride, you should have one of the most comfortable Tri Glides out there! I think Mikey is finally coming around to realizing that the M8's are performing pretty darn well and there is a continuing accumulation of evidence that they are not as problematic as some of us first thought when we heard of a few horror stories repeated endlessly. It appears that Harley had some vendor issues related to sub-assembly parts cleanliness that was likely easily and quickly addressed when they figured it out.
Its funny but when I see somebody like Mike railing against the newness but continuing to do homework and study the problem, it is usually these folks that become ardent secondary adopters of new products. Mike should probably have come from Missouri rather than Texas in overcoming his skepticism of the new lump
I doubt that Harley is going to implement IRS in the near future on the Tri Glides due to the added complexity of maintenance, cost and difficulties with backward compatibility if they were to make such a move. Then again, there are proponents of the solid axles for different dynamic reasons that might also prevent a migration?
Seems like Kevin's hard work in determining more optimal shock absorption will likely be the bridge that some are looking for in getting a more comfortable ride.

Only complaint on OEM rear shocks, is the rebound is real stiff. After all the field testing is done, I will pull the trigger.

As such, after listening to the line of crap at the last shareholder meeting where in they gave us an idea of, without totally tipping their hand, as to what was in the pipeline, you'd better believe I'm going to raise hell ! My trust investment in Harley-Davidson exceeds 6 figures and I sure as hell do not enjoy watching it dip or stagnate when the rest of my market investments have gone stratospheric post election. Some of these niggling issues with the M8 should never have happened to start with based on what we were told about the new Q C testing ...blah...blah...blah ! So you're damn straight I'm going to raise hell !
As an investor, I've bought the right to do so.
That is what capitalism is all about. Have a blessed day.
