    Default Boom Stage I speakers

Has anybody had any experience with these by adding them onto your trike, or heard them on a trike? These are the ones that are the first 'step' in getting better sound, according to Harley.

I tried listening to them on the display the local shop has up of them. Stage I actually sounded worse than their mock up of the original in my opinion. Something tells me this is probably not the case when mounted on the trike itself, but I'd like to have the opinion of someone who has actual experience with them.

    Thanks for any help.

I have realised that no matter what speakers you have, you still Gota crank them up. I put a set in my helmet for touring as it's the only way I can hear the cb and make out the radio. The HD boom system does not impress me as for quality audio. The display speakers sound great in the store, give it riding noise, wind, exhaust, and engine , and it all goes down the drain. Have mother sing, then you will apreachiate what ya got.

Yeah, I can't use the helmet speakers that came with the bike in my helmet. So much pressure, they make my ears hurt.

But you're probably right about nothing will change at highway speed.

Had that same problem, so I bought larger helmet just for the purpose. I have the Scorpion 100xl -1/2 with a cool flip visor. Don't know how to post the site

    Alpine SPR-60 6-1/2" Coaxial 2-Way Type-R Speaker Set

    Walmart ... under $130
It's OK to use a 4 ohm speaker on a 2 ohm system (You can't use a 2 ohm speaker on a 4 ohm system).

... or you can spend some big bucks $850 >

I replaced my rear speakers on my 14 trike with the stage 1 speakers. My rear speakers would distort alot even at lower volumes. I really like the way they sound and no longer distort plus they look good. I'm 62 and don't crank the stereo anymore but for me they are perfect. I would buy them again without hesitation.

This answer helps a lot, and will ultimately help me decide in I'm going to spend the $400 plus labor to put them on.

The dealership is having a sale on the 17th reducing all Boom audio equipment by 15%. Might make the purchase then and have them install it during my winter storage. My cost can be deferred until I get it out of storage that way.

I used these on my 15 Low. Infinity 62.11 Put them in all 4 GREAT. I have not installed them yet on the Trike, but no issue on volume with the stock exhaust. There is an audio section here" harley tech talk ". I would check it out as they have many options . The infinity's are 6 1/2 in . no amp needed. Have not checked the 16 but on the 15 you need adapter rings for the Infinity. Bought them on Amazon for a very good price. (less than HD speakers)

Got to be careful with the 14 and up when swapping speakers. It seems they are very sensitive combos and in some cases you need a line leveler to balance. The Infinity Kappas seem to be okay and don't cause problems. I think it is "Sloride" that knows a bit about systems and could probably help. Most say the Boom stuff is overpriced for what you get.

Boom -smoom- stick it in your room- at 60 mph -nothing is hearable. M/C are not for music. Want tunes- buy a chevy, it comes with Bose. 🎧🎼🎤

Even more H(igh)-D(ollar) than H-D, but man what sound! Got their "Performance Series" headset for the Shorty Helmet. ALL the quality sound goes directly in your ears!

I respectfully disagree. I can hear mine pretty well at 60mph, even with a helmet on. You should see my daughter dancing behind me when a song comes on that she likes.

I'm just thinking that if the speakers were louder and clearer, we could enjoy music at a little higher volume without getting distortion.

Not related--looking at heated grips in this 12 days of Christmas sale....15% off them too.

Besides all that--I'm a Ford man.

$400.00 OMG! My back speakers stage 1 speakers cost around $100.00 from Boardtraker harley. Took me 10 minutes to install with a Phillips screw driver.

    Default HD Boom Stage I

I did the stage I speakers on my '15 Triglide. As said before, the back speakers are a 10 minute job. However, if you've pulled off the front outer fairing, you'll see the speaker enclosure. That thing is a PITA so I paid the man at the dealership. That's where the $$ for service goes up.

A couple yeas ago I replaced my inner fairing with a color matched unit and replaced all the gauges with dakota digital. Did all the work myself

I still think thats alot. I'm hoping the $400 inclued the speakers.

Got my TG out of winter storage on Saturday. First road test for new system. Was wearing a full face modular helmet, and was riding at 60+mph. Lot better sound than the old speakers. Could turn it up nearly all the way and no distortion. Pretty amazing in my opinion.

I'm sure my daughter will be thrilled!

Just went and listened to a song with a lot of bass in it (Cruise by Florida Georgia Line) and there's no comparison between old and new. Much more bass in these speakers. Of course I'm sure that'll all be lost at highway speed, but it's nice to know not all of my money was wasted.

I have the Boom Audio speakers on my 14 TG and it's like night and day difference (even at highway speed). Hell, those speakers are much better than the system in my car. They are well worth the investment. I personally think the MOCO should make them standard equipment on the TG.
