Ahh central Texas. Gotta love it. Where else in most of the US can you ride all afternoon under sunny skies, 81 degrees, calm winds and no traffic on December 28? What a ride!!

I'm beginning to hate Texas living in Illinois this time of year.

Ah yes...Texas weather got to love it...we've broken records the last three days here in Austin. Been absolutely beautiful here...lot's of bikes out tonight, everyone ride safe
I missed yesterdays great weather. Had to work on a septic tank issue. But Saturday is looking like another good one. I'll be cleaned up and ready for that one.
The only reason some people are still alive is it's illegal to shoot them.

Good thing I went riding Tuesday and Wednesday because today I would probably get blown off.

All of the folks I have known online from Texas have been good people, and I've only had one disagreement with any Texans online.
Years ago on a performance car forum, one young feller from Texas didn't like the fact that in my location, I referred to my home town as the oldest city in the U.S. He griped about it, and in response changed his location to something like "Texas: The Greatest State In The U.S."
I told him that the fact that St. Augustine was founded before any other city in the U.S. was verifiable, but his statement regarding the greatness of Texas was simply opinion and I told him that folks from the other 49 "greatest states" could legitimately object.
He started talking about the size of Texas, so naturally I compared Alaska to Texas and showed that Texas was decidedly lacking in the comparison. So, he then tried to put forth the statement that due to its status as a quasi-independent republic prior to its admission to the United States, Texas is the only state allowed to fly its state flag at the same height as the U.S. flag. I showed him that this is false, and that Texas is subject to the same rules as all other states regarding flag etiquette.
Don't get me wrong though...Texas is a great state, and you'd be hard pressed to find a state with a more diverse topography, or a more interesting history.
Unfortunately there is always going to be somebody publicly making an ass of themselves but at the same time making those around them appear the same as he/she. Glad you set him (and everybody) straight on the facts.
Yeah, real Texans aren't all prideful like that.
I'm laughing with and at all us Texans, real and transplanted like me...We do love our Texas don't we.
