My brother was in the Army and was stationed at Fort Bragg back in the 70's. They got hit with 3 or 4" of snow and had to close down all travel. The Transportation Unit had the soldiers from up North who had experience driving in snow assigned to drive cabs and buses for the city to provide emergency services.
