    Default Flasher

Does anyone know where the turn signal flasher is. I can hear it, but I can't locate it. I am converting to LED's and the turn signals flash fast, so I need to replace it. Thx Rick

Look around your oil dipstick. It is somewhere in that area, just have to poke around. If you can find a flasher that will work with led's that will be great. I installed in line resistors on mine, worked fine.

The flasher is located on the top right side and should be seen attached to the support bar. The flasher is a Ford flasher and you can get it at any part store. The flasher on my 08 is on the top right and you can see it as soon as you open the hood. The flasher is attached to the support bar and can be changed without any problem.

Thanks Ed. Do you know if it's a standard Ford truck 5 pin relay? Rick

I'll check in the morning but I think it was a standard Ford turn signal relay.

Just bring it to any auto parts store and they will match it up. They run about $15/16 bucks. I've had 4 replaced now !! Probably because I've been caught in a lot of rain on my trips.

I believe led replacement flashers are available Your parts guy should know. And yes, definitely bring in your old one to match the pin print.

I got a Novita EP27 from Autozone for $15.99. Works great. The flasher was just where you said it was. One problem that I did have, that drove me nuts, was the right side front bulb wouldn't flash with the LED, but would work with the incandescent bulb. It took a while trying to find the problem until it hit me that the LED is polarity sensitive. I checked the voltage at the socket and sure enough, it was reversed. The - was on the pin and the + was on the side. It was a pain trying to get enough wire and cross them, but I finally got it done. Now both fronts work. Tomorrow I'll just have to see if the rear lights were wired wrong also. I hope not. Rick

    Ted,

I used these for the running/brake lights and they seem to be a bit brighter. I like the flashing for attention. I purchased two sets.

I used these for the turn signals and they are pretty close to the same brightness. I polished the front reflectors to shine them up a bit. I did not try them in the rear yet, so I don't know if the wiring back there is correct. This set comes with four bulbs.

They're all working. The only difference I see is the amber LED bulbs in the back are not as yellow as the amber colored incandescent ones. I don't know of any LED's that are. I can live with it. I was lucky and the rear wiring was correct. Rick

Rick, just a note, I thought that the little amber light in the rear tail light assembly was pretty 'funky' looking, so I removed that bulb and had the lights rewired so that the entire back tail lights are not only the brake light but also the turn signal light. The entire light flashes for the turning signal.

A bit late, but maybe it'll help someone else. No Stallions in our facility at the moment, so I had to get creative and robbed this image online. The flasher relay is a standard Ford unit (only blue relay under the hood). I edited this image to show the approximate location for future reference. Hope it helps.

No they come as a unit. Look at the listing. The only mod is to cut off some of the flange on the top inside area that is easily done by following what you see on the old assembly. A filler piece is riveted on that you transfer to the new assembly and then mount the assembly in the opening. Just a step above plug and play. Wife loves them.

It came with 3 modules for each assembly but still the turn signals flash fast. When I get a chance Im going to try the flasher listed at the start of this thread, but that will be down the road a time.
