Well, my Go-4 arrived last night. It's tough buying a vehicle sight unseen, but so far, so... well... pretty good.

I am heading out in my g0-4 tomorrow, Tuesday. About 9am PDT. Out across Puget Sound and toward a Washington State Park. Just for the fun of it I'll be broadcasting life whenever phone conditions permit it. Pop in for a look. Walter Mitty Action Committee

I've just purchased my third unit. A 2003 to replace my 2001 which replaced my 1996.

I've sure enjoyed mine. It is onnly getting 25 to 30 mpg around town, which beats the heck out of my van, but I thought it would be better.

I use it as my daily commuter, maybe 12 miles round trip. Works well. I added a shark motorcycle radio. Pretty poor fidelity, but it doesn't need a standard dash, allows me to input podcasts from my iphone, and has a remote volume control. Got on ebay for something like $70. Gets loud enough. Nice to hear my favorite science podcasts as I drive about.

It holds a weeks worth of groceries and I stay warm and dry in the NW winters. The heater is really a good one. It can blast me out if I let it.

I'm heading from North to South Seattle today. A bit of an adventure.

I can't convince the local McDonalds that I am not a meter maid. The nice ladies there don't speak english too well, and we aren't making ourselves clear to each other. If I go through the drivethrough in my car she says, "Oh, you aren't working today?" It's the only drivethrough I will go to in the thing, as I don't want anyone spitting in my food. People sure don't like Meter maids! Gotta get this thing painted. ;-)

Go-4 guy, could you compare the models? I had a 1996 available,but chose the 2002 Hyundai power.

I just picked up a 1997 Go-4 last month, anyone know how to work with or remove the governer?

There is a website called SillyLittleCars.com. They have information there about how to do it. I have a Hyundai powered go-4 and it was pretty easy. I must say, though, that I set mine to run at 50 or less. It can feel mighty squirrely at freeway speeds. Lots of fun, though. I've done some camping trips of about 125 miles or so... no problems.

I bought my 1998 GO-4 "trike" <img src="images/smilies/trike 1 smilie.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Trike1" class="inlineimg" /> that runs on Compressed Natural Gas in 2008 from Hollywood Motors in California. The first issue I encountered was to how to get it shipped to Denver. <img src="images/smilies/AGGGH.gif" border="0" alt="" title="AGGHH" class="inlineimg" /><br /><br /><br />

The next issue was to figure out how to get it insured since every one of the insurance companies I called said "That VIN does not exist". <img src="images/smilies/confused.gif" border="0" alt="" title="huh??" class="inlineimg" /><br /><br /><br />

Finally, I went to an independent insurance rep at AAA who was able to manually enter my vehicle into the system on Progressive. <img src="images/smilies/smiley-score010.gif" border="0" alt="" title="10" class="inlineimg" /><br /><br /><br />

Then I had to find a way to get parts. I called the factory in Canada several times and they were very helpful. After getting the parts I needed and mechanic fixing it, I went through the state certified training put on by ABATE to get my 3-wheel endorsement. I have put at least 5,000 miles on mine just running errands and going to work. <img src="images/smilies/cool.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Cool" class="inlineimg" /><br /><br /><br />

When I first got my GO-4, I stayed to secondary roads but, have since ventured onto to the interstate and found that I can go 65 or so depending on wind and hills; the governor has been disabled.<br /><br />

I have a range of about 90 miles and get 28 to 32 mpg on fuel that currently costs $2.549/gge.<br />

My GO-4 does not have A/C but, does not seem to need it.
