Mud flap LEDs

I just bought a pair of really nice mudflaps for my 2010 H-D Tri-Glide. They have LED lights on each flap. There is a black wire and a red wire for hooking up to my tail lights. I want the flap lights to come on when I brake, use my turn signals and as a running light. Possible??? I touched the red and black wires to the red and black wires in the tail light on my trike, but the flap lights never came on. Any thoughts and/or has anyone wired this configuration up before. It should be simple, I know.

LED are polarity sensitive, You have to put it the right way. 1st off you need 3 wires. one is neg one is red for brake and one for running. U have only 2. So u must choose brake or running ...

You can get the conversion kit from Harely that changes the turnsignals into tail lights, then the led's will be on all the time & get brighter when you brake or turn. Just wire your flaps to the turnsignals Works fine -- I put LEDs on my carrier wired this way. No need for the third wire.

Hi,
The best solution would be to add two more strips of LED's. If the ones you have now are red wire them to your stop light. add a strip of orange and wire to indicators and then add a strip of clear ( or a colour to match your bike, not red or orange) and wire these to your running lights. Current draw is still quite low so the drain on your electrical system is still low and the fuses for stop, indicator and clearance lights can still cope with added load. I have also seen strips of LED running lights placed under rear guards and along sides of trikes which look very funky.
Remember also that led's can be used to create shapes like letters, arrows etc. Just ensure that if you decide to install extra LED's check that they are waterproof. Large strips may also require a controller. Check with your auto electrician.
