I had an invigorating ride into the shop today. 31* and dry.
The kind of day where the bike is just itching to go, where the road beckons, heated jacket and long-johns keeping me warm, it's tempting to just keep riding past work!

Dreaming....This is back in the early 70's, my brother Greg in front, and Toby. Toby is the one that put together the Around the Block ride.
Up in the Andes...
....the views are amazing...
...and the roads...
....Challenging. Those little lines you see...that's the road out of the jungle, up into the Andes.
A fun, but physically demanding day!
Doesn't look like some of the roads have changed one bit since I lived there 40+ years ago. lol

I know a lot of your guys and gals have it a lot colder up north!
But I must be getting old/soft. Rode in this morning and the temp was 33*, but it sure felt colder.
I remember riding in the 20's with no electric gear and it felt warmer than it did this morning!!!
And it is only just beginning!!!!
Kevin
I agree with the old/soft, I used to look forward to this weather after a long hot summer but now it just makes my joints hurt! Getting old sucks but it’s better than a dirt nap. 😎
Around here it's relative. Get down to 20 in November and everyone is freezing. Get up to 20 in February and everyone's running around in shorts...
Yep! Getting old is better than the alternative.
I seem to remember you leaving out for your fall leaf trip in the cold rain??? Yeah, I get what you mean...but as of yet, for me, even the worst day riding is better than riding in a cage.
Yeah, same here...probably in another month I'll be used to our "cold". Not sure at all that I could get used to the cold up your way!
Kevin
Hope everyone had a great day yesterday!
It was a sunny, clear, 52* this morning and I had great ride in today!
Kevin
70 degrees here yesterday. Took the dyna out for a long spell, just putzing around. Weather's kinda weird this year, down to 3 degrees Weds. morning...
About a month ago we picked up a 06 GSX R1000 for $100...just to get a few parts off it.
Today we finally took 30 minutes to pull the parts off it that we wanted. Now the rest of the bike is going to Devin's house...he wants to one day build a go-cart using its' engine.
Got the forks off for some future project bike.
Same with the Yoshimura muffler...it may end up on some future project bike.
Dwayne wanted the rear master cylinder for his Ironhead Project bike-

Couple of pics from one afternoon a week or so ago---out riding with my brother.
Was a good time.

Riding in this morning I saw a new (and not great) thing.
I should have turned around and gotten a photo.
There was a tractor going down the road, which is not unusual in our part of the world.
What was unusual...he was talking on his cell phone and not really paying attention to the road, as evidenced by his swerving around!

Besides what feels like 1000 other things going on at the shop today....
Got my zerk fittings in...
...going to be installing on my primary case for the shifter shaft. Used to have these on all my bikes, but in the last 10 years or so have not, nor have I felt the need.
However, on current '14 TG it is getting a bit loose. Not sure why, but going to fix it.

On another note, we have been using our 3D printer, most everyday, since March 2017.
We had our first mishap over the weekend.
The "hot end", what I would call the printer head, ran into (repeatedly) some plastic that had come loose from the base. Ended up making a melted mess on the hot end.
We're going to try and clean it...if we can't get it cleaned up, we already have a replacement on the way.
Thought you might be interested in a few other pics....
...interesting to see that big sections of the 3D printer were Made With a 3D Printer-

I received an envelope from Paul (and Ellie) in the UK today.
WhooHoo!
Inside was a nice letter from Paul and a SPORTSTER SICKNESS patch!
This patch is going on my vest.
Thank you Paul!

This afternoon I have some pick-ups up in Memphis that are too large, even for the Trike...so I borrowed Mary's truck.
I'm at the shop and will be in her cage this afternoon...and the weather is great! Sunny and in the 60's already (before 9am).
Kevin
It was a brisk 42* when I rode in this morning.
Everything about the day is better when it starts out with a ride!
