Will Kuryakyn Part #4038 Floorboards and Heel Toe Shifter fit our 2006?

I would like to add a heal shifter and was wondering if the Kuryakyn Part #4038 Floorboards and Heel Toe Shifter would fit our 2006 GW Motortrike?

After initial installation adjust so that your shoe/boot will fit shifter and complete shift is not restricted. Partial shifts can wreak havoc with the tranny.

I put Rivco floorboards on my 04wing/Roadsmith and they work great. They are a better product then Kury's for about the same money. I had Kury's on it before I switched to Rivco's. The chrome on the Kury's started to bubble in just over a year and Kury would not cover them under warranty as there warranty is only good for one year. So far no problems with the Rivco's after two years.

Having running boards can be important information. I've seen 1 trike that had running boards and a Kury heal-toe that did not work well together. Possibly others will know which kits, and what generation of running boards for that kit, does not work well with a Kury heal-toe.

Are they weight bearing???

If so, just take you foot rest off and rest your feet on them. Much more comfortable. Did that on my Hannigan years ago!

Added a Kury heel rest on the brake side. So far no problems with the chrome on it

Having running boards can be important information. I've seen 1 trike that had running boards and a Kury heal-toe that did not work well together. Possibly others will know which kits, and what generation of running boards for that kit, does not work well with a Kury heal-toe.

Here are a couple of pics of my current setup with Kury floorboards and heel/toe shifter.

This setup is on a 2009 Goldwing with a 2016 CSC conversion.

There is no interference from any of the parts. The rear brake pedal had to be adjusted a little higher to compensate for the increased pedal range needed for the rear brake conversation. This was a personal comfort issue only.

When it comes to heal/toe shifters, here's something important to remember. The movement in the heal/toe shift lever needs inspected every 8,000 miles, or sooner. When rocking outboard and inboard on the heal and toe ends, acceptable movement is less then 1/4". Anything greater means that the lever that includes the pivot bushing, and pivot pin needs inspected and probably replaced. Fortunately, Kury now makes a lever kit for replacement purposes.

Please note: I've not ordered one of those kits in yet to verify that the kit comes with the pivot pin and too.

I can attest to Greg's advice to checking the H/T shifter on a regular basis.

I had posted before about having shifting problems, having trouble going from 1st to 2nd. This week it got exceptional troublesome. I actually had to pull off the road because I couldn't make the 1st/2nd shift. Made it home by starting out in 2nd gear from a stop. Interestingly, all other shifts and downshifts were fine.

I found that the hex bolt that holds the shift lever to the pivot point had loosened and the whole shift lever was wobbling, making the front of the lever come off the transmission lever. No wonder I couldn't make shifts consistently. Given time, the whole shift lever would have fallen off!

Took it apart, added some blue Loctite and put it back together. (Something the dealer installer should have done.) But I'll keep an eye on it to see if it loosens again.

BTW, the dealer had to put a notch in the left aqua board on my R/S conversion so that the rear (heel) part of the lever had clearance to move downward. Hardly noticeable tho.
