What do you use to take tar off your triglide

I thought I would post this to see what everyone uses to take tar off. The streets around here are full of potholes and the city will be going out pretty soon and fill them with tar, IMHO they don't do a good job, most of the streets need to be resurfaced but they will not do that. I'm just talking splatter from the potholes that the tires pick up.

Now with my truck I take kerosene to take it off, have used gas also, but want something that will take it off and not ruin the paint or clear coat on the trike, what I used for my truck didn't hurt, but I waxed after doing this. It would be hard even for a 2 wheeler to miss these potholes, that is how bad it is here, I have around 4 miles to get to the highway since I don't ride in town unless I have to. I'm sure there are products in the store to take it off, just never have looked, I thought I would ask here what you use and maybe you don't have potholes with tar in it from your city.

Try to get as quickly as you can I use Kerosene K1 and Hot soap and water mixed. does a fine job for us. WD 40 but really that is Kerosene with additives. good luck. Fred

WD-40 does a pretty good job and not hard on the finish.

On the commercial side Turtle Wax Bug and Tar Remover also works well with the added bit of shine as you buff things off...

Filled a old windex sprayer with kero. Spray, melt , wipe, wax on.

I would use Goo-gone. It doesn't have the manly smell of Wd40 but it it will remove tar' sap and decals 👌

Seriously though, another vote for WD-40 here...that's what I use on my cars.

I've used Naphtha lighter fluid to clean tar off my vehicles for years. I've also used it on my guitars to clean off sweat and grung before I polish them, IT won't hurt lacquer or any other finish as a mater of fact. If you get Ronsonol it states on the bottle you can use it to take off them darn sticky labels they put on everything, plus no oily residue like when you use WD40. Only draw back is the smell but it dissipates quickly, oh and you can also use it for what it was intended for, start a fire, GOOD STUFF !

Thanks guys for the replies, guess I will keep doing what I have been doing with the truck, I'd be better off moving out of this town since the streets are so bad, have seen small towns with better streets than this big city.
