The kit comes with heavy springs I was wondering if the clutch lever pull would be easier with the stock springs installed and not slip. Doc

I found out this kit also comes with lighter springs Orange in color , says it reduces the clutch lever pull by 30%. Just want to see if anyone is using it and what do they think ? Thanks Doc

Every Harley I've had I've hopped up and ran hard. Except our '12 Tglide cuz I'm done makin HD rich. I've always felt HD clutches were very, very tough, that they could with stand a lot of abuse, at least from a stock engine. I added a Barnett clutch to our FXRT just so I could say I had one. (La, de, and da.) Couldn't tell a bit of difference once it was in. But if ya like VPC, more power to ya. As far as less lever pull that's not become a problem. Yet.

Doc, I have that very same unit in my 2013 Trike with the 120r motor and the clutch is awesome, especially above 3,000 rpms. Also had one in my 2008 Ultra Classic with a 120r motor in it as well. If you have a lot of torque/hp, I think it is necessary especially given the weight of the Trike that you have to "get moving", or running a little hard.

When I originally installed the 120r in my 2008 Ultra, my HD Tech mechanic (personal friend) thought the SE heavy clutch spring would be sufficient but IT WAS NOT. I experienced clutch slippage in 3rd and 4th gears at the transition.

Installing the AIM VPS solved the slippage problem and I have maintained the use every since. However, I am not sure one needs to go this route with an OEM Harley Motor. I would think the step up to the HD heavy duty spring would be sufficient.

I have a 17 Tri glide with a stock motor with slip ons,and i could see no reason why you would need this type of clutch set up.Riding two up packed with gear I have yet to notice any clutch slip . Unless you are planning on a big bore kit with cam change and head work I feel as though the stock clutch is up to the task.

Better check and make sure that it will work with the hydraulic clutch that's on your trike. All TGs '14-up have them. So far in the responses to your question I notice all are '13 and under model owners. I'm thinking this WILL NOT work with the hydraulic clutch.

You don't have less pull with the hydraulic clutch on your TG, but it does take less hand strength to pull and hold it, that much I can attest to. Mine is a '15, and it is an easier clutch to pull than the pull on my '09 Night Train I owned directly before I bought the TG.

If any of this makes any sense...I'm on the tail end of a midnight shift, and I'm a little tired.

It will fit there are a few working on M-8 Ultras. Have not seen anyone with it on a Tri Glide M-8. I have used these before and Did install one on my brothers 2016 RG with the narrow primary but not a M-8 and it did help his clutch pull. I was hoping to see if anyone had used it to reduce clutch lever pull on the 2017 Tri. Thanks Doc
