Here to pick a brain or two again...
Ok, I have an 1835 with a W-100 cam and a Weber 32/36 progressive carb. I need an electric fuel pump, as the engine was built on a "late model" AS21 AJ case originally made for a fuel injected engine with no provision for a mechanical pump.
So...
What is the optimal fuel pump pressure for a set-up like this, and, is there an electric pump out there that won't require a regulator? My best guess was a pressure of 3.5-4 psi. I'd like to avoid the regulator, both for the additional expense and space considerations.
I've found pumps advertised to run at this pressure range and claim to need no regulator, but before I pull the trigger and wind up with something that doesn't work properly and pisses me off even more than a busted end casting stud, I thought I'd ask here first.
Thanks in advance!
PEACE and ride safe!
