I haven't pulled the tirgger yet and purchased a trike (reading all I can here on the forum and gaining lots of valuable information) but I am getting close to making a decision. I live in Rhode Island and in all my travels through the state (I know it's tiny), I have only seen one trike, a honda valkyrie I believe. I was out on Friday for a ride on my 2 wheeler and did about 200 miles mostly through eastern, central and northern Connecticut. Well in that one ride I saw 5 trikes! A HD TG Ultra classic on route 165 (light blue color with NY plates). 3 trikes makes unknown pulling into a subway sandwich shop on Route 32 just north of Willamantic CT, and a Spyder on route 138 near Voluntown CT. So I am taking these sightings as a sign from above that I should move along, make a purchase, and become a tirke rider and not just a trike looker. Thanks to all who have posted and shared their knowledge.

Purchasing, watching the install, then riding a trike will cause your face to freeze in a permanent ear to ear smile

If you are looking for a deal on a Tri Glide I think Southern Man still has his 2010 Black Tri for sale.

You did not say what kind of bike you have now!
You need to find some one that has a trike that will let you ride it there are all kinds of trike kits out there and they are all good. The main thing is the installer.
While I am prone to say I think the honda gold wings are better sutied for trikes I know a lot of harley trike owners who are happy with their trikes.
I will say this once you own a trike you will never want to go back to two wheels and you will be wondering why you had not done it before.
Just be sure when you go that way it has a rake kit on it at lest a four and a half degree.
Happy trails.

Not to far from u in Conn is one of our sponsors Kent Road Motorsports. check it out he has some nice deals on Goldwings. Learn more about Champion Trikes | Kent Road... you need help just ask And don't make too many plans for the last week in Aug. or 1st week in Sept. approx . The NE TT Rally II will be happening and we want you to join us , If you don't have a trike by then it will be a great opportunity to see some of the finest trike and nicest people .
Thanks for all the replys. My two wheeler is a BMW 800ST which I will keep for commuting. My thinking right now is to purchase a trike mostly for touring and riding 2 up and looking into the future as I am not getting younger as the years pass. Thank you Southern Man and John from Conn. regarding possilbe trike sales. I think Georgia is a little further than I planned on going, but I can definitely check out the Connecticut location. I am not a "wrench" so I would need to have a reliable dealship or independent shop nearby. That NE rally sounds like a definite possiblity next year. Hopefully I will be on a third wheel by then. I am listening to the Trike Gods... they send strong messages.
2 wheels or close to it u can sure show up next year at the rally . you want someone to go with you ( if my schedule allows it ) to Kent Conn. let me know. I am only 20 miles from there . I know a nice place to stop for a coffee after words, my treat.
I hear ya about the trike Gods. They were talking to me last week as well. I have a 2006 HD Softtail Deuce that I finally decided to convert to a trike using the Frankenstein 30" Hot Rod axle. There were three situations in the Great Smokey Mountains were I actually needed a trike due to the weight of my bike and my size. So I am on the road to becoming a trike rider. Looking forward to it. Any advice greatly appreciated.
Hi there blackwidow . Welcome to the TrikeTalk family! Frankenstein makes a great kit ... you will love the trike! Take a bit of time to read through this thread for some wonderful advice for all those starting on three wheels for the first time:

Thanks Nana for the link to the great information. I am looking forward to getting it on the road and learning all the unique handling of a trike. Been riding two wheels for a long time so I am sure I will have some bad habits to break

Oh, they probably aren't bad habits on two wheels! But just give yourself about 300 - 500 miles on the trike. At first it will seem awkward, then you will suddenly realize you came in from a ride with a big grin and it was comfortable! .
By the way..... Definitely get the rake kit! It makes the steering much easier with three wheels!!!
