Any other nuts out there ??

Hi NEWBE, Welcome to the Forum! My wife and I went through the very same thing 2 1/2 years ago. We are retired now, own a beautiful Trike and truly enjoy every minute we are on it. You are heading in the right direction by taking the (MSF) safety drivers course (we both did but my wife does not drive). You can probably get her into the classroom part for free. My wife is now my extra eyes on the road if you know what I mean. You will have no problem adjusting to driving the Trike with a little practice. By the way, we were ATC and snowmobile drivers and never drove a motorcycle on the highway before. We absolutely love it! Again, welcome to the Forum and feel free to send me a message if you want to further discuss some of the "do's and don'ts" that we have learned....

WELCOME to TRIKE TALK....You will be fine with a Trike....I'm not so sure "newbies" don't catch on to ridin' em' sooner than us grizzled veteran 2-wheel Riders that try to make the transition.....You came to the Right Forum..... :wtg:

Friend was left a brand new ( almost , had 6,000 miles on it) by her late hubby, my best friend. Let's just say she is older than I am . Never even rode a bicycle. Took the safety course right up to the test and failed. Like I said never rode a bicycle. She dropped the motorcycle . Didn't give up, got them to give her the test on the trike 7 weeks ago . Passed it and 3 weeks ago rode it 207 miles RT to the N.E .TT Rally . sooooo u can do it too.

Same deal here - never rode a motorcycle except as a passenger a few times in my younger years, haven't even been on a bicycle in 30+ years!! Took the MSF course, passed but knew I'd end up dropping a 2wheeler if I tried it on a "real" road, so bought a brand new trike.....LOVING it!!!

You'll be fine - in fact, since you won't have to "unlearn" 2wheel habits (lean, counter, etc), you may do better on the trike.

Welcome to TrikeTalk, Newbe! And if you are nuts, well..... you'll fit right in here .
You will love triking! and as a new triker you will have less difficulty adjusting to the ride than those of us who changed over from two wheels. So take your time, have fun, carry a toothbrush (to clean those bugs out of your grin), and did I mention to have fun?

welcome aboard newbe. Glad you found us. Don't second guess yourself. You will love 3 wheels.

Welcome. I started riding in 1948, triked my Wing in '05 at age of 73. Knee went out....trike or park the Wing. Triked it and will never go back to two wheels (except my Burgman 650). Come on down to the Texas Trike Reunion in April at Kerrville. See my post.
