Happy I own a trike.

Seems like whenever I ride with two wheelers they always find some reason to interject the "old man bike" jokes. I take it in stride because they don't have a clue how enjoyable it is to drive my Goldwing Trike. I have another reason now to be glad. My wife and I were traveling home at night and I saw the deer jump out. I did not see the second one and hit it with the front tire in a glancing blow and it went down under my running board. I must have hit it in the very back hind qtrs. If I was on a two wheeler I would have had to lay it down and my wife and I would also have been injured. Glad I was on three wheels. Only damage was to my foot pegs and my ankle as my foot was the peg when deer hit it. PHEW!!!!!

I'm glad I bought a Trike. It was my retirement present to myself. Rode 2 wheelers since I was a kid and never had a accident and only a few close calls.

I'm glad to hear both you and the wife are OK.

I agree with you that riding the trike made the difference in the mishap.

I purchased my Goldwing new in 2009 with the purpose of making the trike conversion when that day came.

I made the conversion last summer. It was the best thing I could have done to enhance the overall riding experience and comfort.

My only regret was waiting so long to make the conversion.

I, too, am happy to own a trike.

Only thing I miss about 2 wheels is they are much easier to steer in the twisties. Mine even has 6.5 degree rake

Tell your young friends that comment about the "old man bike", that, if they are lucky, the one thing they will get is OLDER.

Trikes do have a few advantages over 2 wheeled bikes.

hello Jeff, I got the old mans bike also. but after I had my trike a while and found out how well it does in the rough stuff. now when riding with my 2 wheel friends, I can push them thu the curves. some even ask me to ride up front. I loved it

WE love the trike, wife is happy in her seat and I am enjoying the ride on the trike, helps my knee to hurt less!! One issue we have in our neighborhood we have a group of about 6 deer roaming, seen them in my front yard down the street and even on one of our major roadways (6 lanes) eating grass etc. So I go slow, down our street especially near night fall and the early morning hours. Hit one a few years ago in north Florida with a cage, screwed the front end up had to get the car towed. So I am real careful driving near dusk and dawn looking for deer!!!
