Well, I bought something I never saw and now I have the pleasure of waiting for it to be delivered. All I have is pictures and Hope....If anyone out there has ever been around a Boom Fun 500 or owned one, I could use all the help I can get..looking forward to conversations, unless of course - I'll be out riding....

Welcome to TrikeTalk. I'll be honest, I had to google your trike to see what it looked like! You will be our first member with one.....Congratulations . That is exciting! What color is yours?

ttriker - Welcome to the fun. That is a cool looking trike. Now I have to go and read up on it, I have not seen one before. Enjoy and ride safe.

It's not big and it's not made for cross country, but most of my rides are on the back roads soaking up the scenery and just enjoying listening to the oldies. I usually ride out on back roads and come back by Freeway, so I hope this will do the trick. I've never seen one before myself, so this will be a learning curve....

I'm seeing your pictures just fine, ttriker! Click on the blue link on the right side of any of your posts..."View Photos By: ttriker". It opens them right up.

Hopefully I get it by the end of the week. It was picked up from Ft Myers, FL Friday, not sure when and they said 8 to 10 days. Seems like a long time, but doesn't anything when you're waiting for it...it's definitely different and I do like different....

Welcome to TT. For what you described as your riding plans, this should do the trick for you. Had a good experience trying one out a few years ago at a BTW Trike-in. I remember a solid, fun ride. Let us know what you think after you get some riding time on it.

I can't find the link to the 500cc model . 500 cc on a two wheeler pulled my wife and I up the cape and back with no problem, 200 miles one way . If it is a high performance 500 you should have no problem . My 500 shadow is 55 HP. Some 800 do not produce that much .the original VW was 18Hp if I remember correctly

Well, the trike arrived finally today. I must say, seeing a picture of something and actually seeing it is definitely two different things. I thought it was going to be bigger, like the four other VW Trikes I've had in the past. Rear Wheel base is more like that of most Motorcycle trikes. VW trikes have a wider rear end. Went to get it registered so I could start riding and wouldn't you know it. AZ MVD wasn't happy with the way the did the transfer so I had to send the title back to them to fix and now I'll have it registered next weekend. Bummer....I live in a small community with two long blocks and only one entrance to the community. Mostly older people, (Snowbirds) most of them aren't back yet, so I buzzed about the neighborhood a couple of times. I wasn't expecting alot but I was pleasantly surprised. Not sure how it's going to do on the highway yet, but I think it might be just the ticket.....When I went to show my old riding partner down the street, I told him I have a new toy and it's an oversized Matell Scooter.. If I had to pick between a vespa scooter or my trike, the trike wins hands down. Lower seat high, which helps with my short legs, reclined seating position, which I love, and I get to kick my feet out in front of me. I think this will do just fine. Can't wait to get it registered so I can start riding. We're just coming into our riding season here in AZ so it was perfect timing....Catch you all later...

Click on "View photos by ttriker" on the upper right of any of his posts, and it will take you to some pictures he posted. Cool looking trike!!!
