So far my trike has street cannons, XiED, k&n filter and Cool Masters. All great improvements to help the engine run cooler, last longer and improve performance. I called DKC this morning and spoke with Dwayne. Very knowledgeable individual who helped me take engine and oil cooling to the next level.

I ordered a 606 air cleaner kit that can utilize the stock air cleaner cover. This kit removes the air cleaner hoses at the backplate and keeps spent crank case gases from recycling back through the air cleaner. The kit has an external crank case vent. Check out pictures of a piston with and without this modification on their website. It will make you buy one. Because this is a true stage one air cleaner, I decided to get the Power Vision programmer and remove the XiED for better tuning options.

I also like the ability to view engine oil, head temps and other info through the PV screen. Also ordered a piggy back twin row oil cooler, an oil filter relocation kit with a high flow reuseable oil filter, and a 1 1/2 inch tank lift with cooling wings.

I went pretty much all in to abate as much heat as possible. I often tow a trailer which adds to engine temps, and it's already high nineties and 100+ is not far away here in Texas. I'm thinking this should do the job.

Great service, most of this should be here Saturday, with the tuner coming Monday or Tuesday. DK loads a specific tune to match your mods, so it takes a day longer. Now if I weren't so mechanically challanged I might have it all done by the weekend, but we'll see. I'm going to their new website and check out some installation vids. Once I get everything installed I will give a follow-up on impressions.

Ron, sounds like Dwayne got you fixed up with with some good parts to get your temps down. One thing I noticed missing from what you listed were some Thunder Torque Inserts.

They are a low cost item...$25.... and easy to install.

They will increase your low & mid range torque, they also deepen the tone of your exhaust just a bit.

Regarding heat, they make the engine work more efficiently by reducing reversion. Net result regarding heat, is that you will see a drop in combustion temps since you are not having to burn as much fuel to get down the road.

With the Cool Masters that you already have, plus the items on their way to you, I believe you are going to be very pleased with the improvements. The TTI's are icing on the cake.

I've seen those talked about before but how and where on the pipes are they installed? Do they require modifying the mufflers? You said easy install so I think I've been making some wrong assumptions.

They basically fit in the end of the slippons ... you may need to drill a hole to mount them ... they look like a lolly pop ... the "stick" is basically a threaded rod that goes in the hole you drilled ... there are nuts t keep it centered. go to their web site, great pictures and videos including sound with and without.

I didn't have the snuffers, but I did have a CL72 - 250 Scrambler.

Great bike. I currently have a '65 CL160, silver and red, and a sunset orange (not sure of Hondas name for color) '68 CL77. I love the slopers and the 4's. Have a few 4's too.

I installed them on my TriGlide, but had to do a little mod. The Screaming Eagles have an exhaust cone on the end which I removed. Then two weird allen head screws that hold the baffle into the muffler. These had to be modified due to a little nipple in the center of the allen head whitct I ground down with a rotary dremel and bit. Next pull the baffle out (I only pulled them a couple inches) and drill a hole into the baffle to mount the Inserts. Mine are 1 5/8 size inserts since the baffle is 2" .

By turning the insert about 40 to 45degrees (90 degrees being full closed) I was able to adjust the exhaust tone to my liking. The Power Vision also gave me a nice 36 to 37 MPG average after the install. (I have a stock de-catted header and my breather mod for the stock air cleaner)

As an update, the parts came in and I got some stuff done. I installed the tank 1.5 inch front, .5 inch back lift kit from DKC on my FW yesterday. Totally cool looking. It looks like just the right lift in terms of showing heads but not any frame below. I also put on wind deflectors and now considering taking the fork wind deflectors off and see how the buffeting feels. The buffeting without them has been tough for me. But with a piggyback oil cooler (yet to be installed) I and know it will cool the oil better without fork wind deflectors.

Also installed the Outlaw 606 air cleaner that can use the stock air cover. This ac places the stock cover a bit too far out for my taste, and it just doesn't look quite right, so I ordered a chrome 7 spoke cover. I pretty much copied Kevins Tri Glide set up with the catch can just below the air cleaner. Power Vision programmer came in today, plan on flashing the ecm and installing the Torque inserts this weekend. Waiting to install the oil relocation kit until I get back from an out west trip. I'll report back after some miles over the next 3 weeks. It's so hot and muggy down here I'm towing it and basecamping from truck camper and riding some great roads. Not as pure but I'm trading off for comfort, AC and refrig.
