Three Wheel Rally

How many attended? Haven't seen any posts about the event. Good turn-out? Interesting rides? Vendor participation?

I'll just jump right in. This was our first one. There was a ton of bikes. We only did the first couple of group rides. Even though the Legion Riders did an outstanding job and really knew what they were doing, there were just enough new riders and stupid riders that made it bad for the rest. We did the rest of the week, well over 1,000 miles, self guided with two other couples.

Vendors may have gotten better after Wednesday. They were pretty lame until then with at least two having nothing to do with motorcycles or 3 wheelers. Did have one pin stripe my ride but there was maybe only two others present worth even going by their booth.

Even though we won't be attending another 3 wheel rally, we will be returning to this part of SD for more riding and exploring.

Hmmmm.... Planning to attend in '19 - next years trips are already planned. Maybe the event will grow a bit by then.

Well we had fun ,but not so much on the group rides.I echo what the other poster said. Got an email from the host hotel & they have lowered the rates for 2018 to $89 a night & will not be raising the rate for Fri & Sat ,like they for 2017 rally. The increase was $40 a nite higher for the last 2. We just got resv. for "18" & Theresa said rooms were almost gone (over 200). Great place for rides. but better to do with just a few. Vendors were almost non-existent, & several were not even MC related. Wonderful destination & a lot of nice folks. Hope to see some of you there.

I am assuming you are talking about the trike rally in Deadwood S.D.? The wife and I and another couple will be attending in 2018. We have been riding in the Hills several times and since changing over to a trike thought it might be a fun event. Sounds like the vendors are not much, a bit disappointing but we mostly come to ride!

Yes in Deadwood. They are making some changes. No more Large group rides & trying to get more Vendors in. The host hotel will not raise the rates on the last 2 days either. It is also a "Travel Lodge" this year, but the same hotel as last year. Just changed brand. Also the host was full, but, if you call Theresa she will put u on a wait list. Friend did that & now has a room. Make your own resv. to make sure & if Theresa gets u a room ,cancel other.
