    Default Rolling a Stallion

Just found out someone I know has been hospitalize after rolling his stallion. I've always wondered just how safe these are given the roll bar. But obviously it's good they have one. Are they easy to roll and do they have seat belts? I never paid attention to see if he buckled up. Apparently he's now okay after getting is lung inflated.

Stallions are not easy to roll! I had a Stallion for six years and had a couple of times I was riding a little to fast around curves and if they were easy to roll, believe me it would have. The Stallion roll bar is more for looks than anything. Stallion's don't have seat belts.

I too have been around curves pretty fast and have been very stable. I know someone that used to put his in a tight circle to lift the rear tire so it would spin and smoke the tire. Although the roll bar is set on a bar inside the body, I think it's too low to do any good. Rick

Wow. Had some good times on mine on some windy roads and it has been very stable compared to my other trikes. Hope he's ok.

My wife has ridden over 100k on a Stallion without an issue. Stallions are NOT unstable so there is more to the story to cause a roll over. I hope he mends quick

Well I was wondering if he may have got a sudden flat and over corrected or possible hit the gas instead of braking. Or some other mechanical failure. He's 81 so this isn't going to go good. However he's in excellent physical condition for his age. Makes me look sick really.

First time for every thing i've tried several times to try and get a rear wheel to lift up and never could , there has to be more to the story...

Probably as simple as running off the side of the road and down an embankment...

Well the wife of the driver says it looks much worse in person. I wish I could see the other side but it doesn't appear to be lower on that side as if the right rear tire blew. He's out of intensive care now and is getting some physical therapy already. Still slightly confused as to why he's where he is so not likely we'll ever know just exactly what happened. But here is your rolled Stallion for those that say it's hard to do. It is doable !!!

both of the stallions that I know of that looked like that got help by being hit by a car causing them to be put on their side. Both Bog Dog and TomG. Yes anything can happen but for a Stallion to roll on its side I believe it would need an outside influence. Like previously mentioned not enough details are available to conclude what happened. The important think is that your friend is on the mend.

And we/I may never know exactly what happen. If he got knocked as I did on my two wheel accident, he may never be able to say. I know for fact mines was cause by speed but the exact thing that happen I have a complete blank on that. As hard as I try to remember it I can't. Natures way of protecting us. I'm sure his wife wants to know what happened so if he ever says we'll all know. If I ever learn anything I'll let y'all know. Until then it's silence.

Doing a turn around a corner with the inside wheel striking a curb, will roll the Stallion over. I had this happen to me ridding a Harley with a side car, I got it under control, but ended on the wrong side of the road, wasn't hurt just scared a few years out my life. I hope this guy gets well without permanent damage.

As I would expect any trike with one wheel in front 2 in rear, depending on the speed and height of the curb. Not just a Stallion. I know of no cases that indicate that a Stallion is any more prone to a roll over then any other trike. You CAN MAKE anything roll given the right conditions.

Well he's out of the hospital but now in a senior care facility. The Stallion is at his house and some of his friends looked it over searching for a mechanical failure and found none. The 81yo guy isn't much help either as all he remembers is him trying to correct it from a fishtail as he describes it. The next think he remembers are the EMT's working on him. We are all beginning to wonder if he passed out for just a bit. Or for that matter fell asleep. Maybe he thought he could get a quick nap in on the straight stretch of road. The guys say the Stallion is in good working order with mostly cosmetic issues. And the guy has already said he's going for a ride as soon as he can. You can't keep a old vet down. He did say it will be with a helmet from now on though.

One thing to check: look underneath and make sure one of the ladder bars that attach to the read end has not broke loose. If you remove the seat it helps looking also. Not a common issue but it has happened before both on a Stallion and on Motor Trike conversions that use the same design. Remote but possible.

Well my 81 year old Legion Rider friend is calling it quits. Just going to sell everything. Both trike and bike. He says he gets strange feelings now and then like it got just before the wreck. We all think he blacked out or passed out but it's enough that he's just not sure about riding anymore so the safe thing is to remove temptation and sell out. Anyone seriously interested can send me contact information and I'll pass it on. Remember, this is in Texas so keep that in mind. I can tell you this, he isn't just dumping things. In fact his plan is to fix the Stallion so he gets top dollar unless he gets a too good to pass offer before he gets it fixed. Will give him something to do. I still have not actually seen him yet. He just got released from rehab this week and hasn't yet made it to a Legion Riders meeting. He's historian so he will be back. So there ya go for those that have contacted me before. You have been informed.

It's real hard to get a rear wheel up in the air to roll a Stallion.....

really a safe comfortable ride....had mine since 2010.... big turns, fast turns....never felt like I was about to loose it... ride safe.....

An expert driver given enough time can roll anything 😱Some will learn the limits of a vechice just after it rolled over 😱📞
