Looking for some rake help

I've got an 86 GL1200 SE-i with a MotorTrike kit on it and now I am in need of some help finding a way to make it steer easier. I've got a bad shoulder and can no longer do the Schwarzenegger bit on the turns up here in the mountains. I've looked but I'm having a hard time figuring out something. Kind of on a limited budget right now, so if there is something I can do or find or if sombody can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated. I have a buddy that has a machine shop with CNC machines that said he would help me make something if possible.

U might try getting in touch with Bazooka, he is a dealer and has a add on here for Adventure Trikes.. U can PM him. I know he has the EZ steer for the 1500 Goldwings not sure about urs.....

Yep, definite starting point. If Bazooka doesn't, then might can point You in the right direction. We saw a 1200 Trike 2 weeks ago in Tellico Plains that had raked trees on it, so Someone either does or did make em' at some point. Wish now I had asked what brand. Amazing You could ride the mountains in Bluff City a lot with stock rake....hope You find some trees...:wtg:

Motor Trike quit making a kit for the 1200 in 2003, and sold the mold to a guy in Montana ( I think it was, and he has sense gone on to better things) Finding a Tripple tree for a GL1200 is going to be an adventure for sure. If there is any one in the world that may have an idea where to find such a thing it would be Richard G at MT. Call and ask to speak with him.

Well it's a good thing I'm bald, because if I wasn't I'd be pulling my hair out now for sure.:groan: I've been on the phone with everyone from MotorTrike to California Side Car to RoadSmith and I keep getting the same response "can't help you on that". I sent a PM to Bazooka and he didn't know of anyone. So I guess my only way to go is this, if anyone has or knows of someone that has the triple trees from an 86 Aspencade SE-i, for a good low price, I guess I'll have to take it to a machine shop and see if they can alter it or mill out a new set.
I need your all's opinions on it, what do you think????

I have a 2003 1800 Motortrike. I bought the rake kit from Bazooka and it works great! It makes it like power steering! Bazooka gives members a good price. I saved about $300 or $400 dolars. Kudo's to Bazooka!

I'm just finishing (this Sat.) putting the Custom Triple Tree on my 1985, GL1200A,homebuilt/Motortrike bodied trike. Like you, I had to do some searching but found these guys. Price is a little steep (but well built!!!)...but it's worth the price as I and the wife both drive the trike. I didn't want to install this unit too soon as I wanted to get the wife to fully understand changing driving style from 2 to 3 wheels. Also made sure she was "pushing on the bars rather than pulling". She'd put 300 miles on the bike with no complaints.........now it's really gonna be easy!!

Not easy to install, but not beyond most "riders" knowledge. Tools needed are biggest help and reading instructions from Custom and Honda are important for safety reasons. Order online, by phone , takes about 2 weeks to get it.

I have a 2003 1800 Lehman MKII. I got the trees here. I got a 6 degree rake. and went from "push me - pull me" to literally one hand steering. And just last week I installed a "Super Brace" fork brace. Significant difference. Trike seems more "grounded". Tar snakes and mini pot holes do nothing at the handlebars. Really enhanced the stability.
p.s. Never do a brake job using a degreaser. Always use a brake cleaner spray. I said to myself as I casually drifted thu the stop sign with foot and hand cramping the brakes

Now that must have been a scary experience - most fortunate you didn't connect with another vehicle!
