Can you confirm the Harley 4 bolt spacing. I have been told the bolt pattern on H-D trike rear wheels is 4x4.25" or 4x108mm. This bolt pattern was used on some old Ford and Dodge products. Also told that stock Harley trike rear wheels are 15x5.5" with 2.85" backspacing. Went to the dealer but they said they could not confirm or get that confirmed through HD MoCo Tech Services

Which shop made the fenders? Do you have any idea if they were they actually fabricated at the shop or were they purchased and fitted to the bike. Looks like they tied off on the axle and let the fenders float instead of attaching to the body and allowing travel space. Like to see more detail if it is available.

The guys at Mohawk customs helped me with the fenders. They have flat bar welded underneath to keep the vibration minimal. They shake less than the stock fenders at idle. They are attached with a custom bracket using the existing trunk bolt holes from original fenders. These pics are kind of dark... best I can do now since it is raining.

Gone 2 Three - Can you tell me who was installing these fenders? I am interested in how they attached them to the Trike. I am into a similar project and what to see how others have done this. Any additional pics are appreciated. Thanks in advance for the info.

Evening Jeff, sorry but I don't know much about the fabricator or shop doing the work, but I will see what i can dig up for you. They did sell it recently to an army service member (lady). She was all smiles and the center of attention when they rolled it out of the back after signing on the dotted line. Here is the finished product, sorry about the pick it's not very clear Name: 20180413_214631.jpg

Thank you Randall. Very much appreciated. Let me know what you find out. Really interested in the way they attached it to Trike.

There are a ton of steel fenders like those pictured available on Ebay. You just need to know the radius that you need. You will also need to internally brace them or they will flop around like crazy.

    Thanks Blake,

I have been exploring two approaches. Mounting them like you did with stout brackets and an allowable clearance for shock travel or; Mounting them at the axle assembly's attach points for the calipers so they hug can the tires (see below). My concept for the fenders is more like the ones below. They are reinforced vertically and horizontally across the aft section of the fender. But to your point, may require more. Any and all input is welcome

Those fenders are cool. I looked at axle mounted fenders but the ones I found had flimsy looking mounting hardware. Good luck with your build. Looking forward to seeing it.

Sorry, I didn't notice this question until today. 4 x4.25 is correct. The only other vehicle I'm aware of that has that bolt pattern are the old "Fox body" mustangs. I couldn't find an 18×9 or 10" rim that I liked so I converted the bolt pattern to 5×5.5". Getting the offset and backspacing right took some experimenting, but I eventually got it right.

Thanks for the confirmation. Here is the way I got to the backspace on the use of the Cragar S/S 15x14 I will be running: Stock Wheels 2.25"....Cragar S/S 4.5".... 2" adapter....

net result 2.25" stock equivalent backspacing

I love it when a plan comes together

Howdy Jeff, so after several days of non returned phone calls I got ahold of someone at HD of Round Rock that actually took the time to talk. It seems that it was done by an ex-builder/fabricator from the famous Austin speed shop (Jesse James once owned) He's spun off and started his own business. Not going to have too much hope in him returning my call but here's the info they gave me.

    http://www.jacksonschoppers.com/about.html

I'm thinking that if you use the info given to you from brother Blake here and find you an independent to work with you could be on your way to a great build.

Best of luck on your custom

Those fenders look good on that freewheeler. I got some like that off of ebay and radiused them to fit my tires and made struts but did not brace the under side and the strut broke and the tire grabbed the fender and sent it skipping down the road. I made all new struts out of 3/4"x 1/4" flat stock tig welded that goes all the way under the fender with 4 button head screws across it.
