Craftsman Jack / Tri Glide ???

Hi Guys Just traded my 07 Electra Glide for a 2012 Tri Glide. Do I need to trade in my Craftsman Jack for a new one to lift the Tri Glide or is it possible to use it? Mostly used for getting off the ground a couple inches to clean wheels. Thanks, Bill

The J&S jack lifts front on the frame and rear on the swing arm under the pivot point. You can make an adapter to make your old jack work if it can lift the 1250 pounds. (Thanks to the poster whose pic I "borrowed"!)

That being said J&S has modified their jack to work with the 2017's different exhaust.

I have a 2014 and my J&S jack is awesome. I have a conversion rail from them so it will also work like a standard lift on non-triglides.

I use my Sears Yellow Jack just to raise the front to do the front wheel. Works for that.

If..... You are raising the wheel just to clean/polish it.. I use a Hardline deluxe Rollastand.... Around 50 bucks, I ride the trike on it and then i can turn the wheel by hand....

I was hoping to find an alternative here to buying another jack. The J&S looks nice but spendy. Ill have to save awhile. I do believe in the right tool for the job.

Your 1500lb Sears jack will support your TriGlide just fine. I have two commercial lifts, but use a yellow Sears jack on occasion for service and it works fine. I like that it has the safety catch, just in case. I do use a ratchet strap or two to secure it.

I also have the J&S Tri-Glide lift. It is rather "spendy", but IMHO it is well worth the money. It is very well built and is wider than most other motorcycle lifts which makes it very stable. I previously had their regular lift for the '09 Ultra that I traded for the TG and I have never felt the need to use any straps to secure either bike to the lift. Even when removing the wheels.

I have the conversion kit they sell so I can use the trike lift for my Softail. Unfortunately you cannot convert the regular lift for trike use, only vice versa.

I also have the issue with the J&S Jack. I traded my 2003 Ultra in on a 2017 Tri-Glide. Now I will try to sell my J&S Jack so I can get a Trike specific Jack. I will buy one from J&S again. Best Jack on the market. Worth every penny.

Their 2 wheel jack was not designed to lift the weight of a TriGlide .... and that is why they never offered an adapter kit.

Looked up J&S website. The motorcycle lift has a max lift of 2000 LBS. The weight of a TriGlide is 1230 LBS. J&S offers a adaptor for a Can Am Spyder that will convert the regular bike lift. And the Can Am weighs in at 1012 LBS.

I don't understand why they don't offer an adaptor for the TriGlide.??

I would prefer my lift. But when it's tied up I use my craftsman Yellow/silver jack to light my trike. I'll admit I have not don't it completely but I have lifted front or rear to do work. I'm pretty confident it would lift my whole Victory Cross Country Champion trike.

Check the pit-bull web site bet their adpter would work. They just make one jack and have adpter for the trike that is what I have.
