That's what I was looking for on the side walls but didn't see any. So the wear bars are just in the tread groove on the face of the tire?

You bet ya. it matters not how it runs, ya got to be able to steer and STOP safely. This is where good tires are a MUST Way too often I hear customers complain about steering and stopping issues. That is when I say to them check your tire pressure and wear ALWAYS

    Default Avon 91 tire

It does stay planted in turns and I can run 15 to 20 mph over the posted corner speeds when my inner hooligan comes out to play. Don't do much of that when 2-up, though ( the Momma poke in the ribs )!
I have 500 mi on the new AV91 and totally agree on better handling! The tire performs great except for the Buzz. Most of our 2 lane roads in Southern AZ are rough and the buzz is not that noticeable. 20 mph over posted in corners the tire tracks true! I like it and will live with the Buzz; unless Avon comes out with some kind of update.

    I haven't tried the 41 lbs yet.

When I mounted the AV91 on, I had them remove the weights and add Ride On. At the 200 mile point, I've started getting the Buzz between 50 and 60 mph ... not bad, but, I notice it. I called the indy shop that did the install and they made me an appointment for tomorrow at 9am to get the front wheel off, the ride on removed, remount and balance the tire. He told me they have had a couple instances of ride on in the wide trike tires not doing a good job balancing the tire. He also told me that he would only charge me a 1/2 hour labor and the cost of weights to do that (the 1/2 hour is what he will need to get the ride on out).

To be totally transparent, he warned me about the ride on in the front trike tire before I had him do it. I have just had good luck with rideon, so, I didn't listen. This guy really knows about customer service ... LOL ... I expected to pay between $100-$220 to learn that lesson .. I think he feels sorry for me.

Fuzzy, I had not heard of the Ride on issue before, what gives there?

I wonder if you just rebalanced the wheel with the Ride on still in there to see if it is actually not in balance. I have it in mine (front & rear) and like the sealant aspect. Will be watching for your update on this when you get it back.

the indy dealer told me he can't get an accurate balance with it in there. But, after it's balanced, then I could add it back for the sealing aspect and it should be fine. We'll see what happens. I do carry a can of fix a flat and a compressor so, not sure I need it. I also have the tire repair kit, so I may take the fix a flat out of the trailer.

That is a great tire repair kit. Have carried it for yrs. Used one time on a friends 2 wheeler . He rode 1000 miles on it with no problems. When he needed a new tire, they checked the plug & it had not moved.

Had the AV 91,same buzz on the 16. Tire was new (5k on it + -) so when I got the 2020 had dealer change tires from the 16 to the 20 & told him to remove the ride on. No buzz on the 20.

So today they pulled the front wheel and dismounted the tire. They took me back to the shop to show me the inside.

If you never have seen the Ride On in a tire, it's supposed to look like an even ribbon of like yellow taffy down the middle of the tire. This one looked that way except for about 1/4 of the tire on the right side as it turns, where the yellow taffy kind of rolled just a little on the edge down and got much harder than the rest.

The indy shop had not ever seen that and neither had I. The indy shop called Ride On and got a rep. Ride On asked for pictures which they sent and then told them to take a sample of the Ride On where it had looked right and where it did not. They took samples and are gonna send them to Ride On.

Ride On told the dealer to charge them for removing the Ride On, Putting new in or balancing the tire without Ride On. I opted for no Ride On and just had them balance the tire. About 5 minutes later they took be back to the shop and showed me that the tire with no Ride On was 0 and 0 on the high speed balancing machine. He said he's only seen a tire do that once before. So, now I have no weights on my front wheel.

I signed for the repair so the shop could get paid for the work and headed out. I stopped at Big O and had them pull the air out and put 40# of N2 in it. Off to the highway where I could get a good test at various speeds.

NO buzzing. There may have been a slight vibration in the right hand grip, but, I think it's what my mind remembers. After going from zero to 80 several times, I was convinced that all was well again. After about 10 miles, the perception of vibration was gone.

Like I've said before, if something bad can happen to 10% of the people that do a thing, I'll be the one.

On my ride yesterday, I got just a tad of a buzz around 58-65mph. I checked the tire pressure and it was 33#. I pumped it up to 40# and went on a quick ride. The buzzing was a little less.

My question is, should I have another shop balance the tire (the whole "the tire balanced perfectly with no weights" thing bugs me) or, maybe try something like Dyna Beads?

With Kira around, I really don't have time to do things more than once. So looking for input.

I only have 150 miles on my new AV91, have no vibrations or buzzing. I have heard a different sound from the tire than the stock tire. I like the way handles so far, 40# inflation

My question is, should I have another shop balance the tire (the whole "the tire balanced perfectly with no weights" thing bugs me) or, maybe try something like Dyna Beads?
