Has any one used a car tire on the front like a 175-55-16 tire. We don't need a curved tire on the front any longer were using car tires on the rear. A little wider front tire may help it handle better. What do think about it??

There will be others jump in on this, I'm sure.
1. There is a difference on the sealing area of a car tire to a motorcycle wheel. Many do it on a rear anyway
. However, I would be real leery of this w/the side forces put on a front trike tire in a hard turn!
2. There is still a need for some roundness when a trike front tire is turned. Because of rake, it does lean some.
3. There is now a trike specific tire marketed by Avon. Why take a chance on an unknown?

This tire is for a Lotus Elan, a hard cornering sports car and needs a 5-6" rim. Looks like it's waiting for a guina pig. If you bring in a wheel they can tell you if it will seal properly, although they may not be allowed to do it lawfully.
Keep us posted if you try it.

Wont fit on most Yamaha front rims. My Roadstar is "doudble dark" 195-65-16 on the rear and rear motorcycle tire on the front.
A car tire with its flat foot print even if it did fit on a 3.5 inch front rim would probably be to flat footed and handle rather poorly.
You could make some fender risers rather easily if you want to try it.
But a 175 anything should be on at least a 5 inch wide rim.
Just my opinion in 35 years of darksiding. Not based in known fact.

Eurowing uses a car tire on the front. Check with them and find out what size rim, etc.

The front rim is 14" on a eurowing. The rim will not fit between a stock Goldwing set of forks. Something else to consider on the front tire is sidewall height if you plan on trying to use a car tire on the front. If its too tall it will rub the front fender.
My research has found no car tire that could mount on our RSV 3.5" rim.
I'm not going to modify my wheel/rim - too expensive.
So for anyone who cares, my next front tire for my trike will be -
Avon Venom p/n 90000000778 AM42 160/80B16
Load rating = 80
Speed rating = H
Tread Depth 11/32
...just a little wider (.4") & a little taller (1.1")
My current Avon Venom AM42 150/80B 16 has over 15000 miles on it now.
As of this time there is no car tire that will fit on a Yamaha front rim.Your best bet for the front is to use a rear motorcycle tire. If you you want to spend about $3000 you can get a whole new front end with and earl's fork (leading link) and a car rim that will allow you to use a car tire but that's the only way I know.
these people will build you one for whatever bike you want.
