    Default 2013 Can-Am Spyder

    What would be a good price for a 2013 Spyder RT with about 5600 miles on the Clock. Plastic looks fine.

    I don't know about the price.....But with the 13 model year Spyder it is very important that ''All'' the recalls have been done.......

    I would give no more than $10K.

    You couldn't get that much out of it if you decided to trade it for a new one....and like Bob said, make sure that all recalls are done before you purchase it.

    Personally I wouldn't give $100 for a 13. It has to be the biggest covered up mistake Can-Am ever made. Even if all the recalls were done, that model was a make-do model when the engine wasn't ready. It was supposed to have the new 3 cylinder engine and everything else on it was ready for it. It wasn't ready so they literally stuffed the old engine in it. Or maybe it was the transmission that wasn't ready. I forget which one but it was one or both of them. Dealers couldn't even get rid of them. They were wholesaling new never ridden machines just to get them out of their inventory in 2016. That machine even with the recalls done is one hot machine. If you don't know, it was the 13's that caused a huge safety recall that many 12 owners got the benefit from to try getting them a little cooler to ride. There were 4 or 5 13's that caught fire and completely burned up. Buy with eyes wide open to the history of those machines. Get any number of good low mileage 12 or 14's but I wouldn't touch a 13. I don't care what NADA lists them for.
    The only reason some people are still alive is it's illegal to shoot them.

    I agree with this assessment. I had one and the day the recall solution was announced I traded it for a 2015 Tri-Glide and got $14,000 for my trade.

    You did great. That's more than Can-Am dealers could sell new ones for around that time. I know you took a big loss but you did much better than many. You couldn't give them away for awhile back then. Maybe the history on them is fading so many think they are getting a good deal now.

    When i posted something simmlar to your post in 2013 on a all Spyder forum, My relationship turned sour with them.........

    Yep. They are like most Harley forum sites. They may as well be salesmen/women. I haven't looked at those sites in several years. Is Bob Demond(or something like it) still there? Talk about a post whore.

    Had a friend with a Spyder RT, waited so long for the a recall heat fix, he finally gave up, traded it in for a TriGlide. The RT a fine looking machine, maybe CanAm has it right now, who knows? They've had enough time get it right.....

    My opinion, I would look for a 2014 or newer, you might be a lot happier. My wife had a 2011, now a 2014 and she loves the difference with the bigger engine and upgraded items like brakes. Our two Spyder shops in the area say the same, 2014 or newer.

    Denman.....He's up to 85 thousand....But he isn't to bad...Compared to some of the Guru's over there.....But like you say, The Harley two wheel sites can get in your face easy also....

    You never did say what price you were looking at for the 2013? Although the heat problems have been fixed,in today's market I would look for a 2014 RTL with low miles. There are plenty of them out there and there are so many improvements. I do love my 2012. I have 34000+ on it with no problems but if the finances would work for me I would go for the 3 cyl./6 speed.

    Yep he is still there

    10K for a 13 NA. get for something newer 14 on up the prices are getting cheaper as they get older too.

    I was looking at one at a dealer and his price was 16,900. I didn't realize that there was so many problems with the 13's. Looked good body wise, only about 5500 miles, 5 speed auto but I passed on it.

    You can probably get a 14 on up for around that price range.

    Check Imotorsports they have some pretty good deals and ship too.

    That price would have been too high more like 13,500. If the recall on the heat had been done it would have been ok. The 13's have better brakes then the 2010-2012 series. If you can go to 16-17 grand go for a 2014 RTL
